Once again, I’m going to skip the blog post and just publish the photos. I hope you enjoy.
I think this is a Blue Heron. Ive seen him at Great River Park before. This is the only time I’ve been able to catch him in flight.
This guy was hard to follow, so I took a picture every time he stood still long enough.
There he goes again.
There he is. Like those ducks, he’s looking for breakfast.
Our neighbor’s cactus rose is blooming.
Since working with Teagan, I’ve been drawn to black birds.”
“I’m walkin’, yes indeed…”
“Where is she?”
“Hi honey, I’m home”
Let’s just call this guy ‘Daffy’ Still, I couldn’t do that.
The ducks are looking for breakfast.
One of the bunnies who comes here for breakfast.
I think MiMi is sleeping, but I had to turn the light on.
“What?”
We had thunderstorms. Maddie tucked herself in to make me feel better.
Maddie got away from me on the way to the deck, but I was pretty sure where she would be.

You and Teagan would love the black birds hanging around here lately – they’re huge!!

We have a few crows around here that are huge. They have even chased one of the hawks away.

WHOA! Now that I think about it, we used to have a lot of hawks around here, but not much anymore. Umh…….

Yeah, these guys are funny. They don’t mind other birds, they even poke around with them picking for the seed we toss out, but they don’t like the hawks.

Great photos, Dan. It’s amazing how beautiful the blossoms are on cacti. Have a great day!

Thanks Gwen. We pass that cactus plant as we turn the corner. It’s on the absolute edge of her property and it is so pretty when it blooms.

Nice heron shots. Those guys are hard to capture…

Thanks. I had about a dozen heron blurs 🙂

Only a dozen? That’s a low percentage!

Well, these were all the good ones. I’m just thankful I’m not shooting film.

Oh, me too. Remember those days… when 36 was the most photos you could take at a time? Hell, I tell you. It was Hell!

And if you took 18 crummy ones you still paid for them 🙁

It’s definitely a beautiful day in your neighborhood with these good shots. But, I’m a sucker for that one of Maddie on ‘her’ deck. :-) Have a good week, Dan.

Ha ha – Thanks Judy. I got the message – “it’s ok if you give yourself Mondays off for the summer, Dan, but we want to see Maddie.”

I love that cactus rose. And Blue Herons. And Fats Domino. Maddie looks so ready. Lol. She is a trip. Happy Monday, Dan.

Thanks Cheryl. The cactus rose is so pretty. I can’t adequately capture the color. It’s almost translucent.

Beautiful photos, Dan. The very first one is a stunner. Oh, poor non-Daffy. I did laugh, though. Just a little.

The first pic of the Blue Heron is spectacular! Daffy looks like a doofus! I had a Cactus Rose for years. It was gorgeous, as is the one you photographed.
Always makes my day to see Maddie and MiMi, (and MuMu when she’s agreeable to having her pic taken.)
Hope this is the start of a great week for you.
Happy Birthday to all your Canadian readers! 🇨🇦

Thanks so much Ginger. Daddy was having a wardrobe malfunction. Done feather wouldn’t behave. He reminded me of MiMi.
MuMu has not be agreeable. She summons me to brush her but she stays in the dark and moves around a lot.
Maddie has really made the “deck” her special place.

The picture of the yoga duck is my favourite! Great shot, Dan, … and oh yes, the heron in flight! That is an amazing photo!

Thanks Joanne. MiMi was not happy bug her sister was uncooperative, so I had to snap her little face. I like the duck.

Teagan has fond a great job working my Jinx photos into the story. I don’t know how she does it.

It looks like a marvelous Monday, Dan. I love to watch herons. Great shots. Each one is a winner. Thanks for the shout out. Now you’ve got that song in my head… and I just have to write something that involves Jinx walking. :D https://youtu.be/Y29RZpHnkq8?t=6 Hugs on the wing.

Thanks for that link. Sorry to get the song stuck, but this Jinx was stepping, big time.

Thanks! I hope it’s a nice dry month, not too hot and not too humid. Can yo arrange that?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I cannot. For if I could, it would be 85 and rainy while I am at work and 70 and cloudy when I am not, and every night at 10pm, it would be 55.

Ha ha – thank Jennie – I got lucky with Jinx (Slow Joe Crow). I always think it’s funny when birds walk for a good distance. If I could fly, I think I’d do it all the time.

Coming by way of Judy at New England Garden and Thread. Your photos are wonderful — except for the rabbit. His cousins are all over the place here, eating anything that holds still. The colors in the water in the first two photos are another matter — glorious!

Thank you and thanks for stopping over. Sorry it isn’t one of those D-I-Y posts (there are plenty out here).
We love the bunnies, but this one did eat my wife’s parsley. She bought more, but has them totally fenced in.

Welcome July! What a lovely way to start the month Dan! I love your photos – especially Bunny Bun! :)

Thanks Yvonne. I don’t think the bunnies are living with us this year, but the are visiting regularly. They’ve done a little damage in my wife’s garden, but she replanted the stuff they like behind a better fence.

Thanks Heather. I had a lot of blurred shots but I like these. Right now, it’s a little too hot, 93°f (34°c) and very humid. We do cold better than heat.

Even in my book 34°C is too hot and humidity is even worse. Hope you can find some cool.
