I ran a few errands this week, and I was on the lookout for doors. That’s what members of Norm Frampton’s worldwide network of door lovers do, we look for doors. Anyway, as I was going through the doors I collected, I decided to focus on just a few. They contain a message of gratitude... Continue Reading →
Yesterday (Tuesday) was the day that I went grocery shopping. I’ve settled into a routine of hitting both the large grocery store that we don’t like but has everything and the small grocery store that we like but is often out of stuff. Their “Senior” hours are staggered by an hour, so I can hit... Continue Reading →
Last week was a bit of a blogging blur. I posted six days in a row. That’s unusual for me. I have to tell you; I don’t like it. After four consecutive days, writing starts to seem like work. It’s a good thing the sixth post brought me to the bar so I could have... Continue Reading →
It’s Saturday, but even in the virtual bar, some days are better than others. Let’s join David and, you know who, for our favorite adult beverage and some conversation inspired by Linda G. Hill. Her prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is ‘val.’ Find a word... Continue Reading →
There is a lot of good news being brought to our attention from all over the world, as the pandemic continues to challenge medical and political professionals. We read about heroes almost every day. Unfortunately, we also read about people and companies whose behaviors are selfish, inconsiderate, and criminal in nature. That’s how life is... Continue Reading →
The notes in my blog-idea-tracking system, a.k.a. Trello tell me that I’m supposed to remind a lot of people that National Train Day will be celebrated (quietly) on Saturday, May 9th. This is a reminder that the “We are the World” Blogfest” takes place this Friday, April 24, 2020. April is one of those funny months where the last Friday falls pretty early, so I think the blogfest snuck up on a few of us – I know it snuck up on me.
The “We are the World” Blogfest”is now in its third year. This blogfest’s goal is to spread the message of light, hope and love in today’s world. We are challenging all participants to share the positive side of humanity. Each month, four or five volunteers co-host the sharing of good news stories that are shared by 50-60 participants. Information about WATWB is shared primarily via Twitter and on Facebook. We understand that that leaves some people out of the flow. So, this month, we’re trying to use this blog as a way of reaching people whose primary…

It wouldn’t surprise anyone to discover that I’ve had the TV on a little more than normal for the past few weeks. It wouldn’t surprise anyone who knows me to learn that Star Trek has been one of the shows I’ve been watching. Nothing should surprise me about Star Trek – I’ve been watching, re-watching...
