Oreo was going to be my shop kitty. Then he met the Editor, decided she was his mom and gave me the brush off.
Cookie was our second kitten. He was also a brat.
Millie – the first female cat. We adopted her from someone who could no longer care for her. She hated men, including me.
MiMi and MuMu.
Mom cat. This ornament represents the Editor. I think it’s how the cats see her.
This is why you adopt kittens.
“Boxes! They bought us boxes and ribbon!”
This is my favorite Christmas commercial. It’s from a restaurant chain in western Pennsylvania (Ohio and WV) called Eat’n Park. It’s short and sweet and I hope you enjoy it.
Awww…what lovely remembrances for your beloved (and sometimes challenging) fur children. I love the Mom cat. But, hey, where is your toolbelt ornament? Merry Christmas..
I absolutely adore your ornaments, Dan. What a precious collection you have! We cannot even put up a tree in this house due to the ruffins who will knock it down. And I LOVE that video …. I’ve seen it before but I could watch that every year. May you and MiMi and MuMu and Maddie and the Editor and you have had a truly blessed Christmas. It’s all about love and family. That’s the real meaning of Christmas on the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Thank you, Amy. We only decorate the upper half of the tree. Otherwise, MiMi removes the ornaments. This year, we only put the special ornaments up. The video is my favorite. Merry Christmas, Amy and I hope you have a wonderful new year.
I had to laugh. Oh I know what cats can do to ornaments and whatever is hanging. LOL When the tree came down one year we said no more. Oh wow. Did not know that was a video. I’ll have to go check it out, Dan. I’m far from myself yet …..
I used to work near a little pet store that carried all kinds of animal themed items. The “Mitzi” Irish Setter angel was the first one we bought. It used to make my wife cry every year. It has to represent both female setters. We have a large Irish Setter head that we use for the one male setter.
Dan, those ornaments make for the most marvelous Christmas tree I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing it with us. I didn’t even bother to put up my funny “Whoville” (turquoise sequins) tree that I got last year. At least I got out my holiday coffee mugs on Christmas Eve…
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas weekend. Hugs.
I love the idea of an ornament for every cat!

Yeah, we’ve had trees topple. Everyone scatters with their best “not me” look.

We did. Zoom came through and we had a lovely lunch with my parents, who are thrilled to have us here.

We didn’t put the tree up until Christmas Eve. Actually, it’s when my parents always put theirs up, so I guess it’s ok.
