Judy asked about the 1×2″ strapping I used to bring the new floor panels up to the proper height. More strapping and insulation was added before that first sheet went down.
AdvanTech subflooring has a tongue and groove joint along the long edge. Since the short edge is above the plate between the two rooms, I decided to add “biscuits” to help keep the panels aligned.
Maddie and I crossed the street to allow the bunny to continue eating.
One of those day lilies in the park.
It’s always good to see it flying in the breeze.
Our days are getting warmer and more humid. We walk at 7:15.
The honeysuckle is still blooming.
This guy also likes peanuts.
The squirrels have been remodeling their home as well.
“I’ll pose for you in exchange for a peanut. You know you want to take my picture.”
Payment received.
I had been using that file-card cabinet for storage. It was ineffective and very heavy. The employee on duty decided we should work smarter, not harder.
Our public works department runs a recycling operation. They accept scrap metal in bulk.
Big Green Egg – got some use this weekend.
Burgers for dinner. The foil contains potatoes and onions.
Perhaps the best cheesecake ever.
Similar pose, but MiMi is awake (and a tad annoyed).

  1. Thank you! We all absorb and understand differently, and I’m a visual personal. I get it now, it makes perfect sense. :-) I hope your project continues to go well, and it comes out just the way you envisioned it. Hot and humid here too, and the daylilies are starting to pop.     • I knew I had those two pictures, so when you asked, I figured they would help. I will gat to the halfway point today and be ready to move to the other side tomorrow. I’m glad things are blooming and I’m really happy to hear that you got the notification. I hope you have a great week.

  3. No way you could refuse to give Smokey a peanut. He’s too darn cute! That Day Lily is really pretty. So pretty that the park has it chained in so it can’t run away!😂 Poor MiMi. Her harassment never ends. Looks like good fixins’ on your grill. Love to see Old Glory flying. Beautiful.

    Garage is looking good. This will really be a feather in your cap when it’s finished.

    • Smokey knows just how cute he is, Ginger. MiMi is also cute, but she’s on a different schedule, so I have to wake her some days.

      I think I should be able to get the rest of the floor down this week. It would be easier if the room wasn’t full of tools, but…

    • I think Smokey has my number, Teagan. He must just look at me and think, “this will be easy.” This is going to be the worst day (weatherwise) this week. I’m not going to push it.

  8. Biscuits on the floor….and I pictured MiMi/MuMu making biscuits right along side of you. 😹😸 Smokey’s picture is so cute! Look at that bushy tail! The daylily photo is so pretty, Dan. The yellow flower and the blue of the chainlink…it just pops! No walker lady lately. You think it’s to hot for her….not that Maddie misses her?!

  14. You had a busy weekend. It must feel good to get that sub flooring done and up to the height of the other floor. Love the photo gallery. What’s better than Maddie, the flying flag, and Smokey getting paid in Peanuts? 🙂
