Last Post of 2021 – #1LinerWeds

This will be my last post for 2021. There will be no Thursday Doors tomorrow – although the Thursday Doors Badge Contest is still accepting entries until 11:59 pm Thursday December 30th.

My next post will be on Saturday, January 1, 2022! I find that amazing. In light of that, I leave you with the simple One-Liner:

“Happy New Year!”

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s fun weekly series One-Liner Wednesday. If you would like to join in on the fun, you can follow this link to participate and to see the one-liners from the other participants.

  1. And the same to you: Happy New Year! Thanks for taking us on walks this year, for the lively dialogue at the bar, for Life With Doors, and much else. Good stuff to help us through a tough year!

  2. Great photo gallery to close out 2021. You captured some magnificent sunshine. Baby Smokey’s tail needs a warm sock over it!

Always good to see Old Glory flying proud, ending one year with us and knowing she will still be proudly flying her colors come 2022.

Thank you for a year of great posts Dan. You never disappoint. Well, for me, the Monday Math Lessons are a little rough! 🤗 You’ve taken us on fantastic tours, showing us things we never would have otherwise seen. Love being able to keep up with the 3 M’s. The Saturday conversations at the bar. All your many DIY projects. I always look forward to your posts because I know I’m in for a treat.

Enjoy what’s left of 2021. I wish you and the Editor and Faith a truly happy and healthy New Year. Bloggers like you made it easier to get through this past year. You deserve a medal!

    • Thank you so much, Ginger. Its readers like you who deserve a medal. I love your comments, even when you’re bailing out of a math lesson.

Hopefully I’ll keep walking and visiting and snapping door photos. 2022 has to be better…right?

Enjoy the rest of this week, as we get ready for one mor dance with Father Time.

  3. As I look at a little bit of snow I’m thinking forward to Mount Maddie. Did I get the name right? I guess I’m looking forward to a lot of things. I hope 2022 will treat us all with kindness!

    • You did get the name right Pam but Maddie is no longer interested in climbing big piles of snow. I guess she’s getting older, too. Still, she loves seeing the snow and walking in it. I am looking forward to 2022. Take care up there.

  4. Happy New Year, Dan! I love the sunrise shots, reflections, and Maddie’s glam shot with her hair blowing in the breeze. I do hope baby smoke’s tail fluffs out soon and that Mama or Daddy’s tail provides nighttime cover till then.

    • Thank yo uso much for this and all your comments, JoAnna. Baby Smoke’s tail is growing ever so slowly. We’ve never seen babies before, but I can’t imagine that it normally takes this long. I hope some other squirrels are helping him (and the small gray squirrel). Maddie loves her walks. I think she’d stay out for hours so we have to be the bad guys and bring her back. I hope you enjoy however you celebrate the arrival of the new year.

  5. Dan, this entire gallery is just glorious. That sunrise is breathtaking. I’m glad you and Maddie avoided that icy sidewalk! I thought she looked ready to “bark in” the New Year, but of course… Walker Lady. LOL.
The perfect one liner. Happy New Year to you and yours back to you. Hugs on the wing.

    • Thanks Teagan. Maddie is always ready to bark away the intruders and dangerous people. She keeps dragging me out at 7:15. Right now that’s very early for the sun. I’ll have to wait and see if she holds to that time as we move closer to spring. Of course, in the summer, I’m the one that want’s to walk early, before it gets hot..

I hope you have a wonderful new year.

    • Thanks Janet. I’m still checking in on others during these days, just not working too hard to create something on my end. Football is going not-so-well, but, like everything else about 2021, there’s always next year.

      • I’m doing well with the Packers unless Covid intervenes, Nebraska was terrible, and Ohio State fell by the wayside. So I’m not that much better off as far as football goes. We’ve been watching rugby almost every night on Peacock and that’s been a blast. Looking forward to cycling. And then there’s hockey and the Blackhawks have made headlines for the wrong reason and not done well on the ice either. So it goes. Thank goodness there’s more to life, eh?
