Linda G. Hill graciously agreed to run her kick-in-the-pants get-your-blogging-butt-in-gear Just Jot January blog challenge again this year. Linda is busy lady, so we all appreciate her bringing this challenge back. Today’s prompt is courtesy of Fandango.
Thank you, Fandango! Please be sure to visit his blog to read his post and say hello. And follow him while you’re there, if you’re not already.
“Your prompt for JusJoJan January 21st, 2022, is ‘mission.’ Use the word ‘misson’ any way you’d like. Have fun!“
When I hear the word “mission,” my mind goes immediately to “The Blues Brothers” who mentioned and reminded us that, “we’re on a mission from God!“
Aretha Franklin’s character would remind me to be careful about such things. Her reaction was, “Don’t you blaspheme, don’t you blaspheme in here!”
So hilarious!!! That’s probably my favorite line in the entire movie.

Thanks Dan. However I will go with your mission rather than the Blues Brothers. There is too much traffic in Chicago…

The Producer and I used the Mission from God quote all the time. Always makes us laugh.

Some things were destined for immortality: Shakespeare, daVinci, the Blues Brothers…

I think it was Shakespeare who first said, “We’re puttin’ the band back together.”

I like how Dan Ackroyd says that line. Gonna have to watch that movie again.

Hilarious!! I loved that movie and will definitely watch it again. Thanks for the morning levity, Dan. This was a very clever use of MISSION. I’ll be thinking of that line all day. 🤣

I gave birth to Sara at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Five years later, they held a “homecoming” for babies born the year she was. The invitation came on a postcard with a nun and priest on the front, each wearing Ray-Bans, and the headline on the back, “We’re on a mission from God.” We attended.
