I have another short, well shorter than usual for me, one-liner. I apologize for the image that might come to mind based on the title and the description of the event. However, the image that represents today’s one-liner is the faces reacting to the event, not the event itself.
“What on earth is that dog doing?” — “I don’t know, but they guy better pick it up,”
Note: The material that was, um, deposited on the grass between the sidewalk and the street was dutifully bagged by yours truly, and removed to a suitable trash receptacle.
Those two are always giving us the stink-eye, but this time we deserved it. She usually waits until were on the apron of the park. The pleasures of owning a dog.
Our lilacs are staring to fade, but the Beauty of Moscow ones last a long time. I think we have two baby bunnies, but we haven’t seen them both out at the same time. Those little buggers are fast.
Cats seem to be a trifle judgmental; I’ve never known a cat that didn’t have an opinion. The lilacs are incredible — keep those coming! But you keep making me spell rhododendron; that’s a great raindrop shot.
Those two clowns always have something to say. We normally ignore them and walk on by. Monday, Maddie decided to decorate their yard. The lilacs are starting to fade. If rhododendron is misspelled on my end, it’s spellcheck’s fault. I rarely get it right in my first attempt. I love seeing raindrops on leaves and blossoms.
ha! Maureen–I have 5 indoor cats. You don’t make a move in my house without a cat lurking and smirking–watching your every more. I feel judged every day. 😹
The last two were outdoor cats that I fed. Then they became outdoor/indoor cats. Then I said, “This is ridiculous!” And before my husband knew it, they became indoor only cats! Except for the judgey part, they are awesome. Husband is fine. 😆
Beautiful flowers. We had dogs for 30+ years, and I certainly cleaned up deposits in our yard with a rake/shovel combo. I must admit I didn’t do a lot of walking because I was working so I wasn’t faced with the ‘cleaning of the aisle.’ I applaud all you dog owners who do that. 👏🏻👏🏻
We actually clean it up as she goes in the yard. She has to be on a leash, so we’re there, That way, there’s never any big clean-up job. We keep her on the curb side of the sidewalk, and I like to get her to the park, but sometimes, nature calls. At least it was only cats giving me the growl.
Great one liner! I wish those two cats were here to ward off whoever it is who allows their dog (umm, perhaps elephant!) to deposit gifts in our front yard and then leaves them there so we’re sure to know we were gifted. 😡 We never walked any of our dogs without being prepared to pick up an accident. Like you, when Murphy goes in the yard, we pick it up hot off the presses! Done and gone!
Lilacs are so beautiful. Great pics of the bluejay and robin.
Poor Wack-a-mom. She looks like she’s pleading…..”Please Dan, don’t evict us. We have nowhere to go!”
Wack-a-mom is pleading, but I explained that if the price of heating oil remains nearly double what it was a year ago, we’re going to be using the wood stove a lot more than last winter. Besides, there are many nests in the trees around here,
We always have more than one bag when we walk. Maddie’s deposits are never on the ground very long. I see people who ignore their duty. It makes me angry because I know it will end up getting dogs banned from the park.
It’s fun to see the birds starting to disappear into the leaves. I’m guessing they like having that ability now.
Old Glory is back at the top of the pole today. I hope your week is going well, Ginger.
Those cats….I had to laugh. The caption is perfect. You have such pretty lilacs, and that ‘almost ready for summer’ tree is beautiful. I so admire a well-shaped tree. With your one-liner, I immediately thought of Michael Keaton in Mr Mom. Cracks me up every time.
The expression on their faces was once of shock and disapproval, to say the least, Lois. They sit in judgement as we walk by each day like Heckle and Jeckle.
In the top ten reasons we don’t have a four legged pet at this stage of our lives. But Maddie is a beauty, Dan. Those cats are just jealous they don’t have their own Poop Patrol. 😉
Rhododendrons are one of my favorites. The one we had in Atlanta was stunning. Yours is the same color. The flag is a nice tribute but so sad. 😞
Happy Wednesday.
I told Maddie they were jealous. Pets are a lot of work, especially as they get older. At this point, I think the walk is good for me, so I’ll keep doing it. Those rhododendrons are my favorites. Three years ago, we thought they were dead. We were planning what to replace them with and then boom- in the spring, they bloomed like never before..
LOL!! Perfect caption to go with those faces! Reminds of a quote I read once it goes something like, “Dogs have owners, Cats have staff.” 🤣
Your Birds, and Flowers and just lovely! I especially liked the raindrop soaked Rhoadie! Beautiful!!
The quote sums up our (the humans) lives pretty nicely. This spring has been exceptionally pretty. We’ve have a nice steady amount of rain, and, although we had some cold spells, we didn’t have any frost after early April. I stopped to get those rain soaked photos on as we were starting our walk. That’s when Maddie is least patient with me. She can stop and sniff all she wants, but I’m supposed to go when she wants to move.
Dan, loved the lilacs, bunnies and all the photos. My spring fix this morning. When I got to the flag at half mast, I looked up why? Governor Lamont: Flags Lowered To Half-Staff in Remembrance of the One Million American Lives Lost to COVID-19. A stark reality. And we’re not done with new virus strains. The flu is on the upswing too. Have a good rest of the week. 📚🎶 Christine
Thanks Christine. The flag is back at full staff today. Saturday’s photo will be one of it flying nicely in the bright sun. The critters around here are all happy.
Ha ha ha! There is no judge harsher than our pets. Thank God they cannot vocalize it in words! I’m starting to wonder if Baby Smoky has one parent that’s not a squirrel?
We’re not sure about Baby Smoke. I looked it up, and every source I found say that “squirrels can only mate with other squirrels of the same species.” Gray squirrels can’t even successfully mate with red squirrels. Our black squirrels are actually eastern gray squirrels with a dark pigmentation.
The removal of doggie waste is a huge source of consternation in my neighborhood! It’s irritating but not the hanging offense my neighbors seem to think it is. Baby squirrel sure is cute!
Ha! It’s getting to be a problem here. Mainly because the people who don’t pick it up are also the people who ignore the “No Dogs on Playing Fields” signs.
Beautiful flowers shots, Dan, and I really like your one-liner. My question in that regard is always if you bag it and leave it, does it really count? I say an emphatic NO! :-)
LOL, you are a good and responsible dog owner. Thanks, Dan, for picking it up and not leaving it for the cats to smell or a neighbor to step in. Hope you had a great Wednesday and are having a fun Thursday with the many fun and beautiful doors!
We do our best to keep Maddie from being a nuisance. I can’t keep her from barking at some people, but I move her to the other side of the street. I get upset with the people who don’t pick up after their dogs.
Doors are flowing in. It’s raining here, so it’s a good day to sit and read. It’s going to be in the 90s this weekend (98 on Saturday). What happened to spring?
I hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend,.

Great pics….great one liner!! We inherited one of our daughters dogs to dog sit over the last few days. On the first morning walk I happen to noticed there weren’t any poop bags in the thing on the leash….abrupt stop, about face and returned back to our house. Not that we had any (we just have the two Maine Coon cats), but I’m adamant about picking up after the dog deposits. Sandwich zip lock bags work just as well!!
Great post , I often see that reaction from cats while out with Ruby. The photos are beautiful! 💜💜

I don’t really know, but their blossoms are bigger, they seem fluffier, and they last longer. I still like the scent of the originals.
