Cee offers the following following for her Fun Foto Challenge this week:
“This week our topic is celebrating things that bring a smile to your face. There are endless possibilities for this week. Have fun and don’t forget to smile along the way.”
I had a dentist appointment yesterday. This door actually does make me smile.
“Follow the bouncing Eat’n Park Smiley cookie…” as we sing “Take me out to the ballgame.”

This made me smile. My mother was a switchboard operator.

The box is from a tag sale. It says “All items are free” on the front, but the side looks like a face.
Sorry – I wish I was having this instead of toast and coffee.
It doesn’t get any better than this, Power, WiFi and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
My ride to Washington, DC is here.
‘look at me! look at me now!’ said the cat. ‘with a cup and a cake on the top of my hat! i can hold up TWO books! i can hold up the fish! and a little toy ship! and some milk on a dish! and look! i can hop up and down on the ball! but that is not all! oh, no. that is not all…
This might be a gray (Canada) jay or a gray catbird.

Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream – the best.
We visited this town in search of ice cream. Several people asked last week if we were successful. I present, Exhibit-A

The only problem with that door, is the needles and drills on the other side. Still, it makes me laugh a little.

Smiles all over the place, but especially for that last photo of our national flag, flying proud and free!!! Love the bunny photos… I think I’ve told you before, but I have this affinity for rabbits, having helped raise them as a child. I was taught how to dress and skin a rabbit at the age of 5.

I promise not to tell our bunnies about you ;-) There are so many around here this year, it’s hard to walk without seeing them. They are fun to watch.

That they are… we’re out in the country and at night when we’re coming back home we’ll see bunnies scampering across the street–caught in the headlights of our car, they freeze and then suddenly move like lightning! LOL We never see them in the daylight, but we do see deer on occasion, walking across the back of our property.

Love the dentists smile, but that squirrel with half a hamburger roll in his mouth made me laugh out loud!
Old Glory never fails to make me smile, except when she’s at half mast. Beautiful photo of our symbol of freedom.
Hope this week is jam-packed with smiles for you.

Thanks Ginger. The flag was still at half staff, but Cee’s challenge was for things that. Make me smile, and that doesn’t.
The squirrel is one of my all time favorites. He looked so happy.
I hope you have a great week – lots of small.

This weekend I saw one of the babies drinking out of the birdbath. It has been so dry around here, there aren’t many places for them to get a drink. We go out several times a day, clean and refill them.

That’s so good of you. We’ve been crazy dry as well. I’m filling my bird bath 3 times a day. Deer, squirrels and racoons are drinking as well..

I like it all except for Dunkin Donuts coffee. I am a Starbucks fan. I like strong coffee.

We can agree to disagree on that one, Sherry. I was very happy when AMTRAK switched to Dunkin.

I think you fulfilled your mission quite nicely, Dan. I have not had a breakfast like that since my doctor threatened me with medication. 😒

Thanks Maggie. I don’t have a breakfast like that very often, but once in a while…

I should splurge one in a while myself.

My arteries recoiled in horror, but my soul smiled when I looked at that breakfast. Lots of people say that don’t know what heaven will be, but I do: it’s bacon and eggs, side of grits. Every day. What a great prompt!
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s a good description of heaven, Maureen. I don’t often have the pancakes on the side anymore, but I like pancakes. Today, I stopped before taking a car in for service. I had pancakes and bacon.

Ah, the memories you invoke! Pancakes and bacon in our house meant my mother’s buckwheat pancakes, fried on a griddle brushed with bacon grease. Of course heaven will have those too.

It was nice to see all your smiles, Dan. The switchboard made me smile too, thinking of my own Mom. She was an operator at the Sears & Roebuck for a few years. And ice cream and bubbies and boxes with attitude… baseball! I may just explode with excitement. Wait, I think the breakfast calmed me down. Now you have me wanting a Michelada, or at least an icy beer. Happy Monday, Dan.

Looking at the picture of the Dunkin’ Donuts mug, it made me wonder. Do people really like their coffee or is it just that it sounds good as they decide what donut to buy? It’s been decades since I’ve had their coffee and can’t remember if I liked it or not.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I do like their coffee, and it’s popular here in New England. I often just get a medium coffee (no donut) but sometimes, a donut or a muffin is hard to resist. It was a welcome change on AMTRAK, as your only choice is what they serve on-board, and it is better than what they used to brew.

The theme for today of “smile” made me think of this quote by basketball coach Jim Valvano.
“To me there are three things you should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think—spend more time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions moved to tears.
