Rebecca Budd, host of the delightful podcast series, Tea. Toast. and Trivia. invited me to join her for a part of the series where she features authors reading their books. I was honored, and I was happy to make the attempt. I think the readings (there are two excerpts) came out well. Rebecca wanted to know more about the father character in the book, widely reported as the favorite from people who have read Knuckleheads.

If you’re interested in hearing me read these two short snippets, click on over to Rebecca’s post. You can also find it wherever you like to listen to podcasts.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Hi, Dan
I guess I’m a bonehead, because I clicked on the link and couldn’t find it anywhere on her blog or podcast. I even read the Fine Print!

    1. Hmmm, I’m sorry Kim. I checked the link, it goes to the right page. The reading is in a Soundcloud widget about halfway down the page.

Here’s a link to all the places you can find it. https://anchor.fm/teatoasttrivia/episodes/Dan-Antion-Reading-Knuckleheads-Book-1-in-the-Dreamers-Alliance-Series-e1lqtst

  3. Dan–this was great. Your reading reminded me of growing up in the 50’s/60’s. We had the neighborhood bullies too–the Lanzafamo boys and their sister Patty Ann. 😮 Old memories die hard!

      1. She was so pushy. Always had her brother Joey and the other one, whose name eludes me, right behind her. Scary times in the ‘hood. 😆

  9. Thinking of the father brought a smile to my face… “Let’s keep this between you and me, o.k.?” LOL i.e., ‘Your mother wouldn’t understand, and she might worry.’ Some serious secrets between father and son (and son’s friend). Heartwarming stuff.

    1. I don’t know if it’s still a thing, but there was a serious “don’t tell your mother” trend when I was growing up.
