One Liner Wednesday and JusJoJan always go together, but it’s a little more complicated today. Yesterday, WordPress sent me the image below. I’ve had long streaks before (during a book launch) but this time, it’s due to Linda’s other challenge – Just Jot January. Below the image is my One Liner for today.

I enjoy JusJoJan, but yesterday I reached a point where I needed a break in my blogging.

I couldn’t keep the posting streak alive. However, due to the loosey-goosey forgiving nature of Linda’s annual challenge, I think I can double up on my jots. Yesterday’s prompt was “Periwinkle” and was given to us by Maggie. I love Maggie’s blog and I hated to skip her prompt. I’m hoping she’s a good sport and accepts that late is better than never, well, maybe.

I was pretty sure Periwinkle was a character name. For some reason, I associated it with “Inspector” and was certain he was part of a crime drama. According to EveryCharacter.com,

“Periwinkle, better known as Peri, is Tinkerbell’s fraternal twin in the Disney Fairies franchise. They were born from the same first laugh of a baby and share many personality traits. She is a frost-talent fairy, living in the Winter Woods part of Pixie Hollow.”

EveryCharacter.com

I’m going to assume that she solves crimes there much like Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote.

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s fun weekly series One-Liner Wednesday. And, given the time of the year, it’s also part of Just-Jot-January. If you have a one-liner, I encourage you to join in on the fun. You can follow this link to participate and to see the one-liners from the other participants.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. Thanks Mae. I love that bridge, and I can only see the whole thing in winter, or from the walking path on the other side. I got lucky with the moon.

  4. You’re on a ten day streak? Well done… though it may amuse you know my streak is 1,188 as of today.
    Love the foggy shots!

    1. 1,188 ? Is there a word that combines wow and yikes? I visit your place often, and I enjoy your posts, I’m not sure it’s every day, but I couldn’t keep up with that pace. Good on you!

      1. I’m not sure if it should be commended… or pitied. But thanks all the same.

  5. I really like all the misty shots, particularly the one with raindrops on the branch and the sun in the background. The partially frozen pond is a beauty. But the misty shot of Old Glory with a streak of sunshine lighting her up is the winner!

Happy Hump Day Dan. More rain on the way Friday….but we don’t have to shovel it!

    1. Our flags are back at half staff due to a State Senator having been killed in an accident with a wrong-way driver on the highway. I didn’t want to feature another lowered flag. When I saw that scene on my way home, I decided to use it.

More rain – ugh – but yes, easier to deal with than snow, and misty/foggy shots are filling my galleries this year.

Have a great second half of the week, Ginger. Slide down easy.

  9. What a lovely gallery! Of course I love the trestle shots, but that one of a foggy morning is especially artful to me. I do like the way you find beauty in the daily. As for Periwinkle, I had no idea! Thanks for the continuing education, and congrats on the streak!

    1. Thanks Maureen. The streak is now back at one. I’m OK with that. Periwinkle threw me for a loop, but it wasn’t a homework assignment. I think you might like that trestle as much as I do. These foggy mornings have been good for photographs.

  10. Congratulations on that writing streak, Dan. 😉 I do like the idea of an Inspector Periwinkle, but the description of Tinkerbell’s twin is equally satisfying. Lovely gallery as always. Is that first image of a baseball field? It is a beautiful image. Community sports fields are so American.

    1. Thanks Maggie. I reset the streak at one, but I have managed to write about all the JusJoJot prompts. The is a baseball field. It looks a little lonely in winter, but I liked that photo. You gave us a hard prompt, but I like that we can have fun with them.

      1. I guess the prompt was a bit of a challenge but glad you made it work, Dan. I liked that photo, too. It has a sense of calm isolation.

  12. Tinkerbell had a twin?! How did I not know that?
The rusty trestle, the foggy shots…all beauties, Dan.

  13. Oh, I love the image you titled Foggy Morning, and the Moon over the Trestle bridge.

I didn’t know Tinkerbell had a twin!! She’s my favorite fairy. I love that she’s the frost twin and lives in the winter woods. I’ve never seen a pin while shopping for pins while at Disney parks. I’m going to see if there are any somewhere.

    1. Our weather has given me plenty of opportunities for foggy and dreary morning shots, Deborah.I’m glad you like them.

I had no idea Tinkerbell had a twin (or that there’s a website dedicated to characters). Good luck finding that pin.

      1. I looked up Periwinkle Disney pins and she must be rare b/c she’s expensive!! Like closing in on $100 expensive!
Next I’m going to check my pin collection to see if I accidently bought one thinking it was Tink.

    1. Thanks John. That trestle has been around since the the mid-1800s. They’ve been working on double-tracking it for well over a year. I had no clue about Periwinkle. I hope you have a great rest of the week.

  23. Lots of atmospheric photos here. I love the shot of that hazy baseball field. I do agree the road minus guardrails on a foggy day is best left un-navigated. We have a couple of trestle bridges nearby, and a local business park is called Trestle Bridge. They are very cool.
