I am back to what started a year ago as my summer schedule and turned into one of my favorite challenges. Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is a great way to rummage through the archive and reuse some photos. This week, Cee gives us:

This week our topic is Colorful Monochromes. Your photos needs to be at least 90% one color hue. Be creative and have fun with this challenge.

This gallery probably won’t hit 90% of one color, but it’s how it looks to me. In any case, I had fun, and I get to feature and old friend. Let’s see what we can find.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Wow, Dan. You went all out. I especially like the photo of the bee, the f
Trees in fall color, and, of course, the one of Maddie. 😁

    1. Thanks Janet. These topics make me think. I hope that’s a good mental exercise. I was happy to find the photo of Maddie blending in with the fall colors.

    1. Thanks Willow. I’ve gotten to the point where it’s fun to be able to include her in a gallery. For a long time, it made me too sad.

    1. Thanks Darlene. I had a lot of winter scenes, but they weren’t very colorful. Nature puts on a grand show during fall.

  6. The [hopefully happy] little bee covered in pollen is delightful. Great photo

    1. I always think they must be happy, when they don’t even seem to worry about the guy with a camera getting so close.

  7. You did good, Dan. It was nice to see our friend, Maddie, again. I also loved the hinge which is full of character and history. Good one!

Great job on this one Dan. Sweet Maddie is the star, and what a perfect time to celebrate her. Hope that bee doesn’t have allergies! Even in its state of disrepair, that hinge is a beautiful piece of hardware. I like the “ghost” plane with the bright white contrails against that vivid blue sky.

    1. Thanks Ginger. I knew Maddie would be the start – she always stole the show.

I love it when the bees are so busy they don’t worry about me as I try to get their picture.

I don’t know why that hinge showed up in my search, but I’m glad it did.

I hope you have a great week ahead.

  10. I always like the autumn colors of New England and I sounded out a big “Aw” when I saw Maddie.

  11. These are fun. To look for the monochromatic element must have been fun too. Those Gothic arches and the old hinge held me the longest — what a contrast there. But the pollen-covered bee is a great capture. You and your camera happened at the right place, right time. A good start to a Monday — thanks!

    1. Thanks Maureen. Since nothing is tagged ‘monochrome’ I had to think about what might fit the prompt. I hope all that mental exercise is good for me. I hope you have a nice week ahead.

  13. Beautiful colors, Dan! The bee with pollen–what a great shot that is. Maddie and the walker lady and photobombing the leaves made me laugh.

    1. Thanks Lois. The walker lady is still out there. I still avoid her. It probably isn’t fair, but I trust Maddie’s intuition. I love it when the bees don’t care that I’m there.

      1. I have never taken a bee shot like that, Dan–it is great! In honor of Maddie the walker lady will never get acknowledged. I’m good with that.

  29. The beautiful pink blossoms look so fresh, especially the one after the thunderstorm. I like the wood with the vintage-looking hinge as well. I am always fascinated with contrails and will often photograph them if it’s a brilliant blue sky and a lot of puffiness trailing out like you have here in your photo.
