Cee is being good to all of us today. I have a prompt that I should be able to satisfy without a lot of work, and you get off with fewer words than I am wont to write. This week (today is the last day), Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is:

“This week our topic is Whole of one Any Item. Be creative and have fun with this challenge.”

Since these are from the archive, let me add that the “half” of wood last week that several people thought was a roast, was actually for a pair of bookends that are featured today.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  2. Wonderful lineup of images in this one, Dan. The Pittsburgh image caught my eye immediately and brought back such memories. I only ever saw my father cry twice – once when my mother died and years before that, he cried at the kitchen table when Roberto Clemente’s plane crashed. It feels like it was only yesterday. Thanks for evoking deep memories!

    1. The day that plane crashed was such a sad day. I think everyone in the city was in shock.

    1. What a great gallery, Dan.
Speaking of which, a friend is having trouble with her long captions. When we click on the i in the circle, it doesn’t give the rest of the caption. But gives the name she mush have called the image. Do you do anything special to get the rest of the caption? I told her I’d ask you. 😁
      Thanks!

      1. Thanks Dale. I don’t do anything special, but you do have to scroll down to see the full caption. I am using the Classic Block. Galleries all work differently, so it’s possible the gallery option she’s using (if she’s using the Block Editor) just doesn’t work that way. It’s annoying.

        1. OK. She was saying when she uploaded one at a time, it was okay, but in groups, no. I shall tell her, thanks. WP is so annoying.

        2. Hey there Dan,
Lisa thanks you – she wasn’t using the gallery option and now will. She knew of what you spoke and is much appreciative!

    2. Thanks Darlene. That was a case of ‘what to get the guy who has everything?’ The answer was making something he couldn’t possibly have.

  4. The bookends are handsome, I like your niece’s bench, and I really like your boat photo. Good Monday, Dan. :-)

    1. Thanks Judy. I love finding odd hunks of wood that will make nice bookends. I’ve made several sets as gifts, and my daughter made a set. I don’t use them because I don’t want to give up the space on a bookshelf ;-) I saw that bench again last week. It’s fun to see something someone you love made and is on display.

You certainly captured the “whole” of a lot of things today. I love that lone rowboat in the yucky water. Barilla is our favorite pasta! The hawk is more than a little impressive! Your niece’s bench is quite the work of art.

And that roast beef made a fine pair of bookends! 🤗

Old Glory, proud, bright and waving in the breeze. That’s the “whole” of this country right there…. one flag for all Americans.

Happy Monday Dan. Enjoy this next week of on and off rain. It won’t be long before all those creepy looking mushrooms show up!

    1. Thanks Ginger. “…one flag for all Americans.” Absolutely!

Barilla is also our favorite, although we were surprised to see it being made in Ames, Iowa. They do have amazingly good water in Ames. Apparently, that’s why they chose that location.

I have to be out and about one day this week. I’m sure I’ll be getting wet at some point. I hope you have a great week. Stay dry.

  9. I have to comment on the beer. Dan. Where’s a nice dark beer? A coffee stout or porter?

I know, that is for Faith and not you. She would have loved the Mexican Hot Chocolate beer at Sonder’s in Ohio. They had a great selection and I even tried an IPA, which I continue to try and wrap my taste buds around. Still a no go, but you never know.

    Fabulous photos for the challenge!

    1. Still no porter on my list, but I did enjoy a dark ale at a brew pub in Iowa. I was also able to find Dark Modelo, although that’s still a lager. No IPAs for me.

  10. Barilla is my pasta brand of choice–how cool that the plant is in Ames!
The first bunny of 2021 is adorable–so tiny. Can you tell if it is still the same one in your yard?
The boat photo is the winner, for me. I love reflections, and all that soft green and the flowers in the foreground. A truly lovely photo, Dan.

    1. We almost never know which bunnies are ours. They are all similar looking, and we know ours get around, and other bunnies come here. We either have a new bunny moving in, or we have a Bob-the-Builder-Bunny adding on. Pictures on Wednesday,

    1. That restaurant has the best pizza, if you’re there and eating it hot out of the oven. If you get it to go, it does not travel well.

  15. Those bookends look exactly like roast beef I have served. Which is why I stopped serving it. The wood joint is a marvel; The Force does seem to run strong in your family.

    1. Haha – we don’t often have roast beef, either, Maureen. I like that joint because it’s simple to make, it looks good and it’s been around for centuries. I like the idea that the Force runs through us.

That’s really a terrific photo. The color and lighting are good. It’s at once calming and mysterious. Love that one. Hugs.
