Let’s see what we can find in the archive:

  1. What a fun photo challenge. I love the photo of the bunny and the squirrel. There’s something beautiful about both these pictures. And the cat looks nice and cozy.

    1. Thanks Smitha. That cat, MiMi is all about nice and cozy. She moves from soft place to softer place throughout the day. We enjoy the critters that hang around here. I’m glad you like the pictures.

      1. MiMi sounds like she has an idyllic life😄

  2. Hi Dan, very nice from the side pictures. This seems to be the easiest and most common way of photographing animals.

    1. It is the easiest way, Robbie, but I had a hard time finding side views in my media. I had a lot of angled front or rear views. I know I’ve taken a lot form the side, so I was surprised how long it took me to find these.

  3. You definitely nailed that challenge

  4. MiMi’s caption was an LOL from me. But where’s the side of sourdough? I expected that, or maybe a side of pancakes. It’s getting so I look for breakfasts in your posts!

    1. I almost included a photo of a hot dog taken from the side, but it didn’t make the final cut.

  5. Wonderfully varied side-view photos, Dan! I enjoyed seeing both the animals and objects!

  6. Excellent collection of sides, especially the first pic. 😉
The nut mobile is squirrel nirvana!

    1. I was pretty sure that peanut mobile was going to end up in our driveway. The bunnies are happy being photographed.

  7. Nice photos. I love the tobacco barns, and the Planter’s peanut is fun. :-) Happy Monday, and I hope you stay dry.

    1. Thanks Judy. It looks like we have one dry day today. It’s going to be hot, but I think I have to cut the grass before the bunnies start getting lost in the yard. We don’t have many tobacco barns left, it’s really kind of sad.

You really nailed the photo challenge Dan. Those tobacco barns are beauties. Poor MiMi. You’re always disturbing her beauty sleep! Love the side shots of the bunny and squirrels.

    Great shot of Old Glory!

Looks like our Monday will see sunshine! Enjoy it.

    1. I’m glad you like these, Ginger. We have some running around to do today, and then I think I need to cut the grass (if it dries out). The rest of the week’s forecasts all include “chance of showers.” I don’t even know what that means anymore. Last week, they said “chance of showers” and we got multiple inches of rain.

      Stay dry!

  9. You certainly had that challenge covered!

    1. Thanks GP. I had to guess about things I’ve take side views of. Of course, some were easy. Bridges, cranes, planes and trains ;-)

  10. The tobacco barn photo is a favorite of mine, too. That is such a pretty shot, Dan.
MiMi–men are slow. He might never grasp the entire concept of your message. We know the feeling. 😾

    1. My wife says something similar to MiMi all the time. When I come back from a walk, or shopping, or working outside, MiMi always gives me a look, and then looks at my wife as if to say, “Why didn’t you change the locks?”

      1. Wouldn’t it be hilarious to actually hear what the cats are thinking? The looks they give us sometimes…🙄😆

        1. I miss MuMu laying on the shelf above me. Her expressions were so funny.

          1. Her expressions were great but you had the best captions for her, Dan.

  12. Maybe you should start a bridges contest like your doors one!

    1. Oh my. That would be fun, but one challenge is enough to manage. At least Cee gives us enough challenge topics that let me include a bridge.

      1. I like bridges too! Lovely photos-all of them!

  13. So, will Smoky be telling you to super size his peanuts from now on?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. He gives us a choice, Liz, more or bigger. I think if the peanut mobile pulled into the driveway, they’d all assume we finally got the message.

  18. Lovely shot of the tobacco harvest! Nothing like a red barn against the blue sky.

    1. Thanks! I love those barns, but so many of them are gone now. The farmland has been turned into warehouse space :(

  19. The picture of the B2 doesn’t look real. It looks like… Geometrics? Great shot. I love the peanut trailer. I worked for Planters Peanuts for a year… That was a very, very long time ago.

    1. The picture of the B-2 isn’t really a side photo. From the side, it would be a very thin line. That’s actually the top of the plane during a 180-degree turn at an airshow. I have used that photo in business presentations to look like an open parenthesis.

  21. I was going to say the bunny shots win but then I saw the giant peanut ? and the stealth fighter. I just love the stealth fighters and the peanut or whatever it is, is quite something. :-)

    1. Seeing the B-2 flyover was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever seen at an airshow. The peanut mobile is fun to see. But, I won’t tell the bunny that he’s dropped behind those guys.

  22. Oh admit it, Dan. This one was good for you! Great images but that Peanut Mobile. Do I see a tiny tow of squirrels with baskets lining up behind it? Led by Smokey of course! Wait, wait! I see Chippy with. Clipboard on the sidelines. 🫢😂

    1. I do enjoy this challenge, Cheryl. I think Smokey and Sammy were trying to get the Peanut Mobile to park in our driveway overnight.

  23. All of these are such fun photos, Dan. Thanks for sharing them. I know you were psyched to see both a crane and a train in one “frame”. :) That peanut-mobile cracked me up. What a hoot. Hugs.

    1. Can you imagine driving that down the highway, Teagan? That would be fun. Seeing a train and a crane is always a treat.
