Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you’d like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post each (or any) week and then share a link to your post in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time). If you like, you can add our badge to your post.

Note: Since people participate on and off, especially in the summer, I am letting everyone know that there will be no Thursday Doors on August 10th and no Recap on August 13th.
Every year, our local volunteer fire department stages a carnival around the 4th of July holiday (Independence Day in the US). The carnival has amusement rides, food, fireworks, food, a parade, and more food. I don’t need to describe a carnival, or a parade, and I’ve already shared pictures of the food, but I like to highlight this event because of the people who organize it. Volunteer firemen.
These men and women are professionals. They volunteer their time. They attend training. They learn how to operate complicated equipment. They show up when they are the only people capable of saving lives, saving property and protecting neighborhoods. People in this town literally owe their lives to these brave men and women. I support them at this event, and in other ways, and they are welcome to a Thursday Doors post every year.
I hope you enjoy the photos in the gallery, and I hope you have the opportunity to thank a fireman for the service he or she provides.
I also hope you will take the time to visit a few of the other contributors’ posts. If you don’t have time today, please check out the Sunday Recap, where you’ll be able to access all of those posts.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.
