Cee’s topic this week for her Fun Foto Challenge is Contrast.

Special Note: I am going to reblog her post tomorrow, but Willow invited me to chat about When Evil Chooses You and aspects of the Dreamer’s Alliance Series. It was a fun visit, and Willow also offered to reveal the cover of the 4th and final book in the series. So if you want to snag a look ahead of my sharing her post, click on over there.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. That’s one of my favorite flags, I think it will be a good day for ice cream, Judy – thanks!

  4. Good images to start my day — thanks! I really like that photo of the church door with sundial, but, oh, that hot fudge! “Contrasts” is a great theme.

    1. I think that sundial is indicating that it’s time for ice cream.

  5. Fantastic contrasts Dan. That “Flickr” photo is amazing. The photo of the ducks and the heron having breakfast and the way the sun radiates off the water in some spots is really beautiful. And precious MiMi…a contrast of black, white and love.

Yes please, I’ll have a hot fudge sundae to start my day.

Old Glory! Best photo I’ve ever seen of her! You’ll never come across that shot again!

    1. I think we’re all up for hot fudge sundaes, Ginger. MiMi instructed me to include the ultimate contrast – the Tuxedo Cat – in this group. And you’re right about that flag photo. It was wet from the rain, so the fold held firm as the sun was just starting to break through.

I hope you have a great week!

    1. I love watching the herons. They are so patient. We have another micro-baby-bunny in the yard. They are so darn cute.

  7. Why is it that one picture can never be taken again. Does that area no longer exist?
I kinda like that plaid affect.

    1. They stopped growing tobacco under shade cloth the year after I took that picture. Now, that tobacco field is an Amazon warehouse :(

I do like the plaid flag.

    1. Hot/cold – light/dark – the sundae is a collection of contrasts. I think we should all have one today.

  10. Wow, Dan! I know you have taken a lot of flag photos, and I have taken a lot, also, but I have never seen a plaid flag. Such a great catch.
    The Flickr photo…so very pretty.

  16. Hi Dan – the sunset is superb … and I can believe the colours would have been stronger when you were there … let Faith know the iphone probably ‘matches your heights’?! Ice-cream looks good … I might get one at the weekend, though it’ll be salted caramel! I’ll wait til winter for one of your specials … the nightcaps look interesting! But great contrasts … black and white putty-cat too – how do we know which is which?! Cheers Hilary

    1. MiMi and MuMu did look very much alike. MiMi has a long white “sock” on her right front leg. When MuMu was around, she was also much heavier than her sister, although cats have a way of concealing that. A salted caramel sundae sounds delicious. I don’t think that’s an option where we get out ice cream.

  17. Nice photos, Dan. There are definitely some contrasts here. I know it’s odd, but I think the monopoly board is my fave this time. :)

    1. Thanks Jan. I don’t think it’s odd. It’s one of the first things I looked for when I saw that the prompt was contrast.

  23. Don’t mean to be pushy but… When is the next book due? That first picture and the picture that is most viewed on Flickr are my favourites. They both seem to evoke a feeling that is almost visceral. I like it!

    1. Not pushy at all, Pam. My plan is for the next book to be released by mid-September. I’m glad you like those pictures.

I’m also a fan of contrasts. I’ve been looking for new clothes and the ones that draw my eye have contrasting colors!

  26. Nice selection of contrasts. I love the plaid flag too… great catch. As far as the Monopoly money goes, I think I’d start off like Faith, the slowly get messier and messier.

  27. Very cool how that flag folded up. I like the Catitude! It’s been ages since I played Monopoly but I used to love to play with my mom. Those cute squirrels and now I’m looking forward to baby bunny pics. I’ll have a few bites of that fair fare and some of that ice cream. I’m suddenly starving!

  28. No to be a picky ninny, but sailboats do not have the right of way in the shipping lanes. Also, the hot dog looks great – now I’m hungry.
