Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge continues her slogan campaign with some homage to transportation:

Normally, I dig deep in my archives for photos, but I was worried about this topic – I’ve used my car photos previously and recently. Fortunately, I attended the Four Town Fair on Friday night. This is an agricultural fair sponsored by four neighboring town (not the one we live in). They have numerous special events, and on Friday night, they had a car show. They also had a tractor show, so I loaded up on some photos for this challenge.

I’m going to start with a mini-gallery of the photos that might be considered “regular” or perhaps, “required.”

Below the main gallery is an appropriate song for this challenge.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Nice wheels Dan. That first one would be a drag to drive 😁

  2. My dad would be over the moon for the ’34 Ford. I, however, feel like someone kicked me off the moon out into space thinking about anyone changing that Barracuda from yellow to, well, ANY other colour. Nash would also be so heartbroken! 😭

(Also accidentally unfollowed the blog, I guess, when WordPress tossed up something new when I hit post!! In case you notice the refollow, unfollowing wasn’t on purpose!)

    1. Thanks Wendy. I’d be heartbroken if you unfollowed for real. Changing the color of a car seemed like a strange thing. On the one hand, they wanted to preserve her father’s memory, but he chose to buy a yellow Barracuda at a time when I’m pretty sure black was available.

  4. The wheels are really nice, but that bunny is wicked cute. I like his wheels/feet best. :-) That sausage looks delicious. I’m hoping you enjoyed every bite. :-)

    1. The bunny is cute, and he seems to know he won first prize. The sausage was good, but I’ve been going to this fair for almost 40 years, and I always – always – got a hot sausage grinder. This year, none of the vendors had hot sausage. I have no idea why.

  5. I’m with Judy: that lop-ear is “wicked cute”! Apparently the judge thought so too. One of the things that confounds me about car shows is that cars considered vintage are cars I double-dated in! As I type that, I suspect that even knowing about “double-dating” is vintage. A good post to start the week with — thanks!

    1. Your comment is payback. You almost made me spit my coffee onto my laptop. I remember when some of these cars first hit the streets, and they were marvelous. As I told Judy, I think that bunny is well aware of his first prize standing. I hope your week is a good one.

  6. Nice car pics, Dan. Co-incidentally we had an “all things British” car show locally on the same weekend. I will have to post a few pictures,

  7. Wow, Dan — great cars and great photos of them! Reminds me that, this summer, my family and I visited the Heritage car museum in Sandwich, Massachusetts, while on Cape Cod. That museum has many amazing old vehicles.

    1. Thanks Dave. This was a great group, and surprising as they all drove in from the local area. Lot of love went in these hobby cars. It’s a little weird when I saw “Classic Cars” and I remember when they were introduce. I hope you have a good week.

      1. A great local variety of cars indeed, Dan! And, yes, seeing what are now “antiques” that were the cars of our youth is a bit disturbing. :-) Our family car when I was growing up (though 1966) was a 1950 Oldsmobile — admittedly already a few years old when I was born. Have a good week, too!

  8. First off Dan, my dream car is one that is comfortable to sit in, has minimum blind spots, and the only time it needs to be at the mechanics is for an oil change and emissions test!

Now that gorgeous bunny is definitely a blue ribbon beauty!

All the cars/trucks you’re showcasing here are beauties. Congratulations to the owners for restoring them and actually making them better than they were originally. It’s amazing what a good imagination, lots of time, and plenty of money can do!

Forget the cars, it’s worth going to this fair just for the food! Bet nobody noshes in any of these cars! Lol!

    1. I’m sure you’re right, Ginger – no food in these cars, especially not something overloaded with onions and peppers. I was disappointed that they only had sweet sausage, but it was good. That bunny was prize worthy (and he knew it). I hope the ones in our yard aren’t upset that I featured him. I hope you have a great week, after the rain heads back out to sea.

  9. You know me with old things, I can’t pick a favorite. But I love that you nicknamed the Chevy station wagon the original SUV>

    1. My dad had three different Rambler station wagons, GP, and I can’t begin to list the things he carried with those cars. He also packed me into the back with the luggage one year when we left on vacation after midnight because he had been in a bowling tournament.

  10. How fun. I domiss the Turkey Run in Daytona. From your collection it would be the classic Chevy for me. That bunny pose though. Must’ve done that for the judges too! Great post. We’re out of s week so I may be a bit late to some of the new posts. Have a stellar week.
