I am torn between two challenges, and they are both from Cee. First, and as usual, I am coming in at the tail end of her Fun Foto Challenge which is the end of the Slogan series–Snap! Crackle! Pop! However, while poking around Cee’s Challenge page, I noticed her Cee’s Which Way Challenge this week is “Any type of bridge.,” and “Any Kind of Sign.” What’s a boy to do?

Obviously, I have to try to do both.

  1. I know you like bridges, Dan! The suspension bridge in Vancouver must have a wonderful view below. The Sunshine Skyway bridge in Tempa is spectacular. Beautiful share.

    1. Thanks Miriam. That suspension bridge was fun to walk across, and driving across the Sunshine Skyway was a thrill. Fortunately, they have fishing piers that you can exit on to that give great views of the bridge.

      1. I have acrophobia, Dan! I may look straigth to cross the suspension bridge.

          1. I was on a suspension bridge in China, Dan. I don’t think we walked all the way across because it wasn’t our route.

  2. Fabulous lot Dan. The bridge in the fog is my favourite :)

  3. Those crunchy leaves make me want to find an old pair of corduroys and an even older sweater! What magnificence! The bridge in fog and the Clemente reflection are wonderful, but I think the old covered bridge is the one I’d like to spend time in. Another good blog start to my morning — thank you!

    1. I’m sure there are some foggy bridges across New England this morning. We’ve had slightly over an inch of rain today. I’m happy to help get your week started.

  4. Great bridge views, and the sign is a simple but effective message. Happy Monday on this cool fall day.

    1. I used to send the picture of that sign to my staff when things weren’t going well. We are cool and very wet today. A good kind of Monday. I hope you have a nice week.

  6. I have a weakness for covered bridges, so that has to be my favorite, but I do like the canal bridge with the train.

    1. Covered bridges are special treats, GP. They’re going to replace that trestle. I hope they make the current one into a hiking path.

    1. Thanks Dave. I don’t have room for another challenge in my week, but I couldn’t resist. I think signs will be making a comeback in the near future (Cee loves signs).

  9. The Bulkeley Bridge–in fog and sunshine–is a beauty.
That suspension bridge…there used to be one in a park north of us that was always called ‘the swinging bridge.’ I would hold on for dear life as some bright-light decided to see how much ‘swing’ they could get out of that bridge. It has since been torn down and, you know, I miss it. Go figure…

  10. Stone arch bridges are my absolute favorite, with rusted trestle bridges a close second.

            1. It’s funny. 150 years meant there were people speaking, and in the audience, who had heard stories about the former bridge and some tragic events on and around it. There were also people who had been trapped up against the bridge during a flood (before a flood control dam had been built upstream).

    1. Oh, not an active one. I saw that movie, too ;-) I am hoping they transition the current bridge into a pedestrian walk, after they build a new one. The Windsor Locks Canal hiking path goes under that bridge today. I hike that path fairly often.

  22. Boy, you can’t be afraid of heights for some of these bridges and that suspension bridge in Vancouver is something else! We have he “Big Mack” Mackinaw Bridge that connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan. It is five miles long and every Labor Day, there is a walk across it led by the Governor to celebrate the holiday.

      1. It’s on many Michigander’s bucket list Dan, including mine! I’m still leery of big crowds due to COVID and crowds have been less for the Bridge walk since the pandemic began – this year was 35,000 people, but in its heyday it was 50,000+.

  23. I’m loving the bridge option, Dan. Opens so many possibilities. The park suspension bridge looks brilliant. And your favourite reminds me of London. A bridge that remains on my memory is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Still hard to believe I drove across it on the way to the Blue Mountains many years ago. Thanks for sharing.
