Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you’d like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post each (or any) week and then share a link to your post in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time). If you like, you can add our badge to your post.

Last week, I shared doors associated with my brother’s and my visit to the Historical Society in the town where we were born and spent our formative years. If you read that post, you probably thought that we were feeling pretty good after that visit. We were.

After leaving the historical society, we decided to have lunch. We noticed a train-themed brewpub across the street—Railroad Street—at the other end of the block. I should add that one of my regular readers had some questions about our activity, particularly whether or not we ate lunch. I promised him that today’s post would include food pictures. As I tell others, every photo doesn’t have to be a picture of a door. I apologize in advance for sharing the food pictures.

I hope you enjoy the gallery. I also hope you have time to explore some of the other participants’ doors. If you can’t catch them all today, they will all be featured in the Sunday Recap.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. I knew I wanted to share the close up of the engine merging from the tunnel, but I wondered about sharing the whole mural. Then I remembered how many people enjoy street art. I don’t see enough of it, but I have at least one more to share with the leftovers post I’ll probably do next week.

  7. Hi Dan – love your images – particularly the murals … thankfully your or your brother’s lunch don’t entice me – sorry! When I was out in Canada … I did envy the space you had for these type of developments … our tiny island doesn’t have these areas – well perhaps a few … cheers Hilary

    1. One thing we have is space, Hilary. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the murals. I was debating whether or not to include both images. It’s probably a good thing you aren’t drawn to that food. It was delicious, but we’re not pretending that it was healthy. Especially when washed down by a flight of beers.

  9. That mural is great! The whole of it certainly looks like the exact right place for two brothers seeking history. I think my favorite image is the gazebo in the park. It seems fitting next to a historical society — a good place to sit and reflect. And History has got to be the door of all doors!

    1. History, made even better by the fact that my brother is a retired history teacher. I iddn’t fully appreciate how important the railroad was to this little town. I mentioned it in a comment last week, but the train station is on the corner of Railroad and Station streets. The pub was a great place to have lunch. The food was excellent (perhaps not the healthiest meal) and the beers were very good.

Dan, the mural on the front of the Railyard Tap Room is fantastic! What a piece of artwork. This restaurant looks like a great place. I hope there is a revisit in the future for the Antion brothers!

I like the little park by the Historical Society. Beautiful little area to just sit and relax.

Looks like two ghost doors on that nearby church!

Really nice ending to your tour Dan. You and your brother collected new memories, but more importantly, you relived many memories from your past. Great vacation all the way around. Ginger

    1. I had to go back and look, Ginger, but you’re right, there are two ghost doors.

The Railroad Taproom may get a return visit. We have so many places like this that we like to visit, we clearly need to stay a full week like we did this time.

The little park is such a beautiful and quiet area. I like gazebos, and that looks like a perfect place for one.

I think I have a round of leftovers from this trip, then I need to find some new doors. I hope you have a nice cool weekend.
