Welcome to another Saturday at the bar. David and I decided to stop for a quick bit of holiday cheer. I looked at Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt, and thought I might attempt to work with it:
“Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: ‘spruce.’ Use it as a noun or a verb, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!“
I wanted to talk about The Spruce Goose, a.k.a. The Hughes H-4 Hercules, famously built by the Hughes Aircraft Company. It was the largest plane ever built at the time, and held that record until 1999. David vetoed the idea, but at least I satisfied the prompt.
Actually, I just wanted to post today to share offer some holiday wishes and gratitude. Since most of us shared holiday greetings earlier this week, I am closing comments here today.
First of all, I would like to extend a great big thank you to Linda G. Hill for offering this prompt every week. Please give her a round of applause!
Second, I’d like to thank all of you for visiting and supporting this crazy banter. Thank you for supporting the guests we bring to the bar and sharing your thoughts in comments that are often more fun to read than my post.
Third, I want to thank Cheryl Pennington for being the Internet’s best bartender. John Howell for pushing me to work on dialog and recommending his signature bourbon and Teagan R. Geneviene for adding her delightful stuffed mushrooms to our menu and for visiting more often than anyone.
Finally, I want to thank Brad Lewis and the other Friends of Skippy for challenging me to develop his character.
So, from Cheryl, Skippy, David and me, Merry Christmas! If you celebrate other religious or meaningful holidays at this time, I hope they were/are wonderful.
Note: I will be attempting to switch to a block-based fully-editable theme after Christmas. If I am successful, you may see a post during the week.
All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.
