Linda G. Hill is running my favorite blog challenge – Just Jot January. I love it, and I will be participating. That means a daily posts (just for one month). I will do my best not to wear out my welcome in your inbox.

Today’s prompt word is from Linda, and it’s “Train” – Like I’m going to pass that up. But instead of talking about trains, I’m giving you a (15 second) video. Most of you will recognize the trestle. There is a caption, so that’s my jot – Freight train crossing CT River.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  8. There’s something very soothing about the sound of a train. Maybe because I grew up with them as background noise…

    1. I can hear them in the background here, and I can hear the whistles as they pass. Favorite sounds.

  10. I have watched people turn their car around if they get stopped for a train. Not me. All those cars moving along….what’s not to like?! Looking forward to your JustJoJan.

    1. I used to get excited when my mom or dad would get stuck at a grade level crossing. I’m not sure they was as happy as I was, but…

  13. I like to count the number of cars when I see a train. I also like to see what kind of cars they are. Yes, I like trains. Happy New Year, Dan!

    1. I like to pay attention to the trains going by, too, Miriam. When visiting my brother the last time, we were stopped for a unit train – 140 cars – all carrying coal. Still, I enjoyed sitting there.

  16. I can’t imagine doing a post a day, Dan. Although obviously a lot of people do, and not only in January. But I love the train. Have a great time with this. Hugs.

    1. I can’t imagine it either, Teagan. But the additional posts – beyond my regular collection – will all be short and won’t include a photo gallery, so they should be easier to prepare. I think I could only do it in January when it’s cold and quiet.
