Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you’d like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post each (or any) week and then share a link to your post in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time). If you like, you can add our badge to your post.

Thursday Doors is on hiatus but we will return next we (January 11, 2024).

I should add that, in addition to Thursday Doors, I am participating in Linda G. Hill’s Just Jot January challenge this month. Today, the prompt is: “Captivating” from Wendy https://waffle-with-wendy.blogspot.com/

If you have a captivating door or doors you wish to share, you may place a link in the comment section. Your link will be included in the Sunday Recap on January 14, 2024.

The break has been productive. I have upgraded my theme (almost finished) and several people have submitted entries for the 2024 Thursday Doors Badge Contest If you want to contribute one, please post your entry on your blog and add a link to that in the comments here (or any of my posts), To see the complete rules for the badge contest, visit this page. But, you have to enter by 11:59 North American Eastern Time today.

Once all the entries are in, I will arrange then, in the order in which they were received, and open a poll for Thursday Doors participants to vote. The voting will begin Sunday and continue through 6:00 PM on Tuesday. This time next week, right here on this page, we will have a new badge!

I wish everyone a happy, healthy year in 2024 and I hope the year is full of interesting doors.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. I still need to find some doors, GP – The weather has been dreadful. I’m sure I’ll find something. I couldn’t show up empty handed ;-)

    1. It was the timing of the holidays, John. For me to get the badge out on a Thursday, the voting has to begin on Sunday. That meant competing with New Years Eve, and I wasn’t willing to try. So, we all got an extra week to think about creating a new badge.

I think I have this theme thing figured out. Well, as much as I can.

I’m looking forward to Sunday and seeing the new badge choices although if it’s anything like the past it won’t be easy choosing just one!

    1. It won’t be an easy choice, Deborah. Thankfully, I don’t vote. If there’s a tie, I think I’ll flip a coin ;-)

  8. Applesauce! I’ve started 2024 with my days pos-i-lutely out of whack. It really is Thursday. Why was I so confused? I’ll blame it on the dreams…
Thanks for this reminder, Dan. I’m looking forward to a new year of Doors from everyone.
Since I submitted my badge entry at the beginning of the contest, I thought I should share the link again. Hugs!

    1. If you shared a door during 2023, you can vote. Since I ask Thursday Doors participants to display the badge, I think they should be the ones to select it. Anyone can enter – participants can vote.
