I know, it’s One-Liner Wednesday. And I know I promised to keep my posts brief during JusJoJan (of which this post is a part). However, I have to explain the backstory on this one. I know that doesn’t surprise very many of you.

John Howell commented on my post yesterday. He suggested that I probably had fun using my snowblower to move all the snow around. I wanted to reply “I love it when a plan comes together” and I wanted to attribute it to George Peppard’s character in The A-Team. The problem was, I didn’t remember the character’s nickname (it was Hannabal). So, I searched:

A-Team leader’s name who says “I love it when…”

Of course, I didn’t consider that that could be interpreted in a way to suggest that “my team leader was in love with…” or that “I, as a team leader, am in love with…” Let’s just say, I got some interesting results.

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s fun weekly series One-Liner Wednesday. And, given the time of the year, it’s also part of Just-Jot-January. If you have a one-liner, I encourage you to join in on the fun. You can follow this link to participate and to see the one-liners from the other participants.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Ok Being a sticky beak or just stupid, I had to do a search and guess what. Everything came up with John “Hannibal” Smith, the first two pages of search and images.
You must have a dodgy search engine 😂😂

    1. I didn’t even get John “Hannibal” Smith once on the first page! I was using Google. I got links to advice columns – which I never visit.

  2. I admire those who love the snow. I love the pictures but not the cold part. We are having unusual cold weather here in sunny California. I am not used to 30s in the night. Yikes.

    1. I enjoy the four seasons, but I wish they would behave better.

We are having weird weather for January. We had 10″ of snow on Sunday. it was very cold Monday and started out cold yesterday. But it started getting warmer overnight. Now, we’ve had over 2″ of rain and it’s 51 degrees at 7:00 am.

      1. Yikes. We’ve had colder than normal nights for quite awile. I’m not used to rhe high 30s. Then the last two days, out of nowhere, we’ve had low 80s during the day. Very strange on both ends.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Wow! 80s are many months away for us. We seem to be in the 20 – 35 range for the foreseeable future. That’s normal for us in February, and normal weather would be nice for a while.

    1. The plow crews were out through the night on Sunday. Once I got the driveway clear, we had a pretty easy ride. It got worse during the day. I thought I’d get a picture of the river while the park was still open. We’ve had over 2″ of rain since last night. I imagine that lot is now closed. Happy cat or sourpuss, that one always gives me the eye as I pass.

Yes, be careful what you search for, you might find more than you bargained for!

Great! The beggars are telling their cousins who the Peanut Man is! 🤗 I love it when the critters communicate!

That kitty found a nice warm sunny spot to hang out. Good for him.

I like the reflection of the Colt Dome in the river. I like seeing the snow much better in your photos than up close and personal here!

Old Glory looking good against that pretty sky.

Happy Wednesday Dan. Stay warm and safe.

    1. Thanks Ginger. Up close means I’m working to remove it. I don’t mind that, but my favorite place has always been along a river. Great River Park was my stop every day I went to work. The Cold Dome is a favorite subject, but a few people in Hartford have let me know they are tired of seeing it. Too bad for them.

I think the squirrels have tapped into someone’s Internet connection. This little guy looked at me like he knew I had peanuts in the car (I did).

I refined the search to just be “The A-Team” and I got my answer.

      Stay dry!

  6. Your plowing paths reminded me of Maddie’s hill of snow. Good memory.

    1. I miss making those hills, Judy. I made hills for all four of our dogs. Mt. Mitzi, Reilly, Mollie and Maddie. I also made hills for our daughter when she was little. I dug in steps so she could climb to the top and sled down. I did those hills before I had a snowblower! I guess I never stopped liking playing in the snow.

  7. You’ve done a great job, as usual. Your plowing helps your neighbors too!

    1. Funny that you mention that, GP. I used to do four sidewalks and 2-3 driveways for older neighbors. Two of them passed away, and the new neighbor is younger, so he does his own and his neighbor. For the first time in 30 years, I’m only doing my driveway and sidewalk! But, in all honesty, I’d rather have those people here to talk to.

  12. The early morning images along the river of the cityscape are lovely. Your neighborhood looks pretty with snow.
How early to do you put up your snow stakes? I never knew what those were for before moving here where it snows. Our community uses them up at the gate to plow around it and not hit the curbs.

I can imagine the kinds of things that were summoned when you typed that query. 😂

    Like

    1. Thanks Deborah. I usually put the snow stakes in after the last time we cut the grass, so they’re in before Thanksgiving. I made the mistake of waiting until the ground had frozen one year – not good. I had to pound a metal rod in first, to get below the frost.

I think the snow makes everything pretty.

  14. Beautiful winter shots, Dan.
Ours is now being rained on. Bloody hell, my decision to NOT shovel the walkway in case the rain was of the freezing type (figuring the snow would make a good base and easier to shovel) was not a fabulous decision. That was H-E-A-V-Y! There are “lakes” all over the place because the sewers cannot handle it. Fun drive into work ;)

    1. I feel for you , Dale. Making the right call once. Most of the sidewalks are clean this morning. Rain and 51°f (11°c) took care of everyone except the people who did absolutely nothing for two days. I’m glad you like the pictures.

  15. Yea! You showed back up in my reader! I don’t know why some disappear and reappear like that. I don’t know how you can stand all that snow all the time! It’s pretty to look at though. What great neighbors you have, plowing the sidewalk so you can walk. And what a lot of work you have to do to keep a path for the delivery service, not to mention to your wood pile!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I’m glad to hear I’m back in the Reader. I love the four seasons, and I truly love the snow. It’s fun to get out there and clear it. I know I won’t always be able to, but until that day, I’m like a little kid. Although it’s not always enforced, you get fined $25 if you don’t clear your sidewalk within 12 hours of the end of the storm. My dad was a mailman, so I always clear an easy path for them (and I let them go first at 4-way stop intersections).

You can tell me about the pros and cons of floods and I can tell you plenty of personal stories, but snow, naah. I love snow. Speaking of the weather, the weather here as well has been weird. This was the first time in my life, we had a rain shower during the Diwali season. Plus, we had a short spell of rain two nights ago which again is a one-in-a-million scenario.
