Just Jot January 10-year badge

Yesterday was a big blogging day for me, so I need to get out of here before I wear out the welcome mat at your inbox. So, I’m keeping this short, but between the header image and the image below, some of you might be mad. Sorry.

Today’s JusJoJan prompt: is: “Toast” from Barbara https://teleportingweena.wordpress.com/ Check out her blog. Maybe you’ll want to follow her. The header image is my normal breakfast. The image bellow is the monthly breakfast I have with my best friend.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  2. Toast a great breakfast… Mind you breakfast at Allegro’s looks good too…though a little too much for me 💜

    1. The best thing about Allegros is how long it takes us to “finish” breakfast. We meet people we know, we talk, eventually we eat and talk some more.

  3. Congratulations on the ten years! I think I tried a daily blog commitment once. I was very proud of myself but I also learned not to try it again! As for the breakfast, I lift my coffee to toast your toast. A thing of beauty! And bacon and eggs with a friend? Life can be so good!

    1. Thanks. I’ve decided that I can’t make it with the daily posts. After this weekend, I will return to the schedule which gives me Tuesdays and Fridays off. I’ll explain this to David tomorrow. As for toast and breakfast, here’s to a healthy supply of sourdough.

Now that’s a breakfast for Champions! For me, it would serve as breakfast, lunch and dinner! I will toast you with my toast this morning for all the years of pleasure your blogs have given me.

Happy Friday Dan. Not a nice weather weekend coming up for either of us, so I hope we can stay warm and dry.

    1. Thanks Ginger. I wish the weather would pay attention to the calendar and go back to normal-for-January, but I guess it doesn’t listen to me.

  5. Okay, you win, Dan. Between you and the commercial for the Baconater on TV for Wendy’s – I’ll put bacon on the shopping list. So much for willpower!!

  6. Who gets mad at your food posts? We finally found a local brand of sourdough bread a that is super. Love the shot of the melting butter.

    1. Thansk John. Someone who shall go nameless said they were tired of seeing people’s food posted in blogs. Pfffft.

We have one grocery that has the best sourdough bread. They don’t always have it, but I’ve been pretty lucky. The Italian bread toast at Allegro is the best with eggs.

      1. Love the love for sourdough bread here, guys. When it is done right, nothing beats it.🍞

        1. Ours comes from a bakery in Brooklyn, NY – nice texture, perfect crust.

      2. Our sourdough bread has the same availability problem. If the driver is late then there is none. The Producer has been known to take it off the delivery rack as he is wheeling it into the store.

  7. Why are you sorry, Dan? Are you worried that you might be making us hungry? No worries here! 😁

    1. See my reply to John. The eggs and bacon are making me hungry, Kim. That was Tuesday. Today it’s toast.

  8. Dan–this made me laugh! Might I interest you in Bonne Maman jam to go with your sourdough toast? See you tomorrow!

    1. That’s my favorite jam! I’m having some of their apricot jam on my toast right now. 😀

          1. I like their raspberry preserves, but I recently found orange marmalade!! Game changer!

            1. 😀 Not long ago when I wanted more they were out of apricot so I tried their wild blueberry. It’s yummy. I haven’t tried their orange marmalade, I’ll try it!

            2. Last year, our local Sam’s Club had a 12-pack of mini jars of different flavors of Bonne Maman jams–a 12 Days of Christmas calendar. If you’ve not, don’t waste your money on that. The flavors were so crazy and the jars so small, I had no idea what flavor I was tasting. I’d rather save my money and go for the big jars. All the good stuff with no ‘star fruit/pomegranate/strawberry’ jam! 😄

    2. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that jam.I’m not fond of apricot, but I’m sure they have other flavors.

  11. I like toast and my husband won’t (says he can’t) eat eggs without toast. Your doctor is probably happy you don’t eat like your Allegro breakfast every day. :-) I do enjoy getting breakfast when I go out to eat. It’s difficult to mess up!

    1. My doctor was pretty happy with things in November. But yeah, Allegro is a once every four weeks kinda thing. It’s near where I get my hair cut.

    1. I used to tale a plastic sandwich bag with me and bring one slice of bacon home for our dog. Since she’s been gone, it’s hard to eat that last piece (but I do).

Can I get a box, please? I could get in a lot of trouble with a breakfast like that, but I so get the idea of friend traditions.

  20. That’s a lot of butter…. reminds me of when I’m at my mothers and the fresh bread comes out of the oven. As soon as we can bear to touch it and cut off a slice (first one gets the end piece!) we then slather on the butter. Somehow, on fresh bread, it’s okay to put it on thick, eh?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Oh yeah. By the time you’re eating it, most of it has melted. When our dog was still with us, she kept a steady eye on any part that hadn’t melted. Letting us know that was her bite.

      1. For me, it has to melt into the bread. I can’t be seeing the slab of butter (makes it less obvious just how bad I am being!) Dogs are smart, aren’t they?
