Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for this week is “Things that are Smooth” — I think I can find a few of these things in the gallery. Cee allows us to use images from our archive, and I like taking advantage of that option.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. I’m glad you like that, Jo. Ever since they built the burn pit, I’ve enjoyed seeing that reflections on days after a rain.

  3. Good ones! For sure, everything starts with good coffee which is what I’m enjoying right now. Happy week, Dan, and there’s no snow in the forecast. Yeah!

The railroad tracks are a definite eye catcher! Anything that was in Mimi’s reach was hers Dan! Love the bean and a good cup of coffee always goes down smoothly.

Old Glory reflected in the fire pit is a beautiful sight.

I hope this is a happy Monday for you Dan and that it takes you into a smooth week.

It’s 18*F here! I foolishly thought I was through getting ice out of the birdbath for our feathered friends.

    1. Keep the birdbath clear of ice, Ginger. Mr. Robin has been walking around as if to remind me that my cabana boy responsibilities are rising in importance.

MiMi had to try everything to see if it was meant for her.

Happy Monday and I hope we have a nice warm week.

Great photos, Dan. I haven’t been to Chicago since the 1970s, so The Bean captured my attention. Someday. . .

    1. I went there for a one night mini-vacation when I had to use a flight credit with Southwest. My friend dragged me all over the city, and The Bean was our first stop,

  10. Mulberry wood is so pretty. In all the art shows we go to, I don’t recall anything being made from mulberry. I am going to pay more attention now. The flag–great photo, Dan.

  14. I don’t know what it is about “the Bean” but I had to see it when in Chicago. It’s smooth and a neat artwork definitely worth seeing at least once.

Your morning image at the river is lovely. For me the day starts with a smooth cup of hot tea with cream.

The Bean was the first stop on a quick tour of the city given by a friend of mine.

  21. Broccoli cheddar is a soup I’ve been starting to get into a bit more after ignoring it previously. Someone was serving it one day in early winter this year and I was pleasantly intrigued. I also found the flag’s reflection on that lid intriguing. As for mowing in the wet, the local yard services people use usually are not phased by the fact more water is coming up than grass lol.

    1. I love broccoli cheddar soup, Bruce, but I like it with larger chunks of broccoli. The particular restaurant always bends their soups into a smooth slurry. I always like it when I get to see that reflection. The public works crew is always out early, and they never seem to care how much moisture is out with them. Then again, hey have to get the fields ready for play on a schedule.

  24. I’m all about that staircase! How amazing that the paint mimics the marble! I can’t help noting the similarity to the Modelo countertop. Smooth is where you find it, yes?

  25. I’m with you on the soup. I like some smoothiness to a cream soup, naturally, but I also like it to contain what Sara calls “chonks”. Charlie was a broth person, so he always skimmed the broth off our soups and I got to feast on the chonks. Yet another example of how the two of us, so very different, worked out perfectly together.

    1. Yeah, don’t blend it into to the point I could eat it with a straw. There will be plenty of time for that later.
