The Thursday Doors Writing Challenge (TDWC). Yeah, okay. I think I did mention it. Once or twice. Yeah, maybe. But you might have missed those posts. Yes, yes, I mentioned it more than once or twice. Still, it is conceivable that you missed them all.

TDWC started today. Thirty-four minutes before this post went live. It runs for a month and a day. That’s because June 1st is a Saturday, which is the day the Thursday Doors challenge ends each week.

I won’t mention this again. Okay, yes, I probably will, but that’s because people will be writing. I’ll bet people are writing right now. In fact, I’m writing right now. I had hoped to have something written for today, but you know how I like to adhere to the spirit of One-Liner Wednesday.

Thursday Doors Writing Challenge—pick a picture, write a masterpiece—story, poem, song, novel, instruction manual, play, screenplay, love letter, etc.

One-Liner Wednesday by Linda G. Hill

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Love the little guy scoffing peanuts. Not the same face peeping from the hole is he?

    1. No. That guy is a squirrel in the aprk. This is a chipmunk in our yard.

  2. Hi Dan – lovely photos … Spring is taking its time … but beauty to behold and to come in days ahead. Did you know that Dandelions are one of the best flowers for bees?! Needed especially in Spring and when it’s slow, as this year. Cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks Hilary. We let the dandelions grow here all year. The Bees and the bunnies love them,.

  3. Lovely pictures. So, these are the only doors we can write on? Also, can I re-write on my doors because I submitted them but they’re not on the list?

    1. The doors on the TDWC page are the only ones for the challenge (the link is above). I didn’t see the link to your doors (I even emailed asking). Send me an email with them or a link to them and I’ll add them to the list.

  4. You have more than one kind of white lilac? I’m in awe. Such gorgeous flowers! And the photo is a beauty too. I do think you have mentioned the writing challenge once or twice, which is a good thing for my feeble memory, and I’m on my way now to check out the doors.

    1. This while lilac was here when we moved in. It has suffered much, from weather and inept pruning, but it carries on. The Beauty of Moscow are just starting to bloom. I wanted to hit all of my posts with the message – I’m done (sorta).

      1. I doubt that “done” is in your vocabulary! I suspect, however, you need a breather. I’m glad this white lilac is a survivor!

  5. I’m thinking your next outdoor project should be a vending machine for your four-legged community. :-)

    1. It’s funny you say that, Judy. Back in the ’80s, I built a squirrel feeder where we used to live. It was a little house with hardware clothe walls and a door in the roof where we poured in peanuts. It had ladders on two sides so the squirrels could climb in but the blue jays couldn’t. Eventually, the blue jays figured it out and we had to add flaps that the squirrels could move but the birds couldn’t fly into. We had it for years.

    1. Thanks. My wife took pictures last night of two mom bunnies and three babies. She wanted to make sure I had enough for you. I’ll share some of those on Saturday.

Sand cherries, lilacs, dandelions, bees on blossoms and bunnies, what’s not to love! And Chip found his pot o’ gold without a rainbow! Old Glory always shines brightly.

I think you should consider Judy’s suggestion of a vending machine!

    1. Thanks Ginger. We have thought of ways we could automate this, but they’re so cute, we wouldn’t want to miss seeing them.

We were working outside when Chippy discovered the cup of peanuts. I was going to chase him away, but he looked so happy. He took two, ran away and came back for two more

  11. Something caught my eye yesterday morning as I opened the blinds, a lovely flag waving- wildly because the wind was up but still a nice wake up

    1. Sometimes, I see the flag waving as I enter the park, and then it settles down when I get close to the memorial. That makes me stop and think about why I walk there.

  15. The “All About That Base” shot…what is the backstory on that, Dan? I don’t recall if I saw a similar shot before. I know there are some places where people place “theme rocks.” The chipmunk hanging out with that container is an awesome shot!

    1. No clue. It’s just a painted rock someone left in the park. That chipmunk had his dream come true.
