Last week, Cee announced that she was out of her cast and would be restarting her scheduled challenges in the near future. She may start CFFC tomorrow, but I won’t be here next Monday—that’s when I normally post my entry for CFFC. Cee has been running her flower of the day challenge, and I was going to join that today, but I got carried away. So, the gallery misss the mark, but I hope you enjoy it.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Beautiful gallery, Dan! I like the critters. They are looking quite active.
Love the photo with the big bunny and baby bunny! Your Rise of Sharon and garden trees are thriving well!
Wishing you a great week! Cheers

    1. Thanks Suzette. Looks like we’re getting lots of rain this week, but at least a few cooler days. I hope you have a great week.

      1. The rain is a welcome gift at this time in July, Dan. Thanks again for the wonderful photos. I enjoyed them.

  3. Hi Dan – yes – the Rose of Sharon is enjoying life and giving a great show. While the critters and birds live their normal life; it looks like Master Prince might be quite handsome! Cheers and enjoy yourselves – Hilary

  5. Obviously your yard is The Place To Be for anybody in Critter World. Fine dining — and good company, too! That photobombing bird is having a laugh, I bet; he knew what you were doing. The Rose of Sharon plants and the little maple seem to be enjoying each other’s company, and probably enjoying the Critter Show too. That is one handsome pumpkin blossom! Your yard is definitely a happenin’ place!

    1. Somebody is eating the pumpkins. I feel bad for Linus, but at least they aren’t eating the other plants. There’s a lot going on out there. It’s amazing how they all get along.

Your gallery didn’t miss anything Dan….flowers, trees, bunnies, birds, a handsome prince, sprinkler and a Linus pumpkin! Your yard is a safe haven for so many critters and I enjoy seeing that. There’s a place for everyone and everyone knows their place. Too bad our government doesn’t run as smoothly!

    Nice catch of Old Glory.

    1. Apparently, it’s pretty easy, Ginger. Everyone is safe and has enough food. Hmmm.

Raining today, (and tomorrow and the next day). I hope you have a great week.

  7. The bunnies and the squirrels seem to be angling for which will win the cuteness award.

    1. We joke that the squirrels and chipmunks are complaining that “We used to be the cute ones!”

      It’s hard to out-cute a baby bunny.

    1. Thanks. We didn’t recognize the bird that was photobombing in the tree, but he’s welcome to join the party.

      1. I recommend the Merlin phone app. It’s free and has a large data base to help you ID birds. You can snap a photo of your photo in the app and tell it where and when you saw the bird and it has a pretty track record for getting the bird ID right.
It’s a Sparrow but, that’s all I can say for sure. 😊 Do you have White-Crowns there now? It might be an immature one?

        1. I don’t know if we have those. I’ll check. Thanks, and thanks for the suggestion. I just downloaded the app. I didn’t take that photo with my phone but I might be able to create a version I can upload.

          1. I have taken a photo of a picture I took on my computer screen and used that and have successfully ID’d birds with Merlin.
Hope that makes sense. Just bring up your image on your computer and open the app and select take photo and fit the bird on your computer screen I n the box then follow the prompts.
Let me know what Merlin thinks it is.

            1. Gray headed sparrow – you were in the right neighborhood.

            2. That is was a Sparrow was all I knew. I hope you enjoy the app. Have you tried the sound feature yet? When you’re outside or anywhere you hear birds singing open the app tap sound and Merlin will listen to the birds and Identify what birds its hearing! The data base on that one is growing and getting better everyday! I love the app, can you tell? 😊

            3. It’s been raining here for two days. I’m hoping to try the sound feature in the park. I can hear birds, but I almost never see them in the trees. It might be nice to know who’s watching me.

            4. I hope the rain stops soon so you can play with the sound feature and find out what birds are watching you.

  10. Smokey and Sammy hanging out is so cute. But then I could watch squirrels forever. They are just adorable. And the back-lit bunny ears. So sweet.

Your yard is pretty…no wonder they all want to be at Dan’s place!

    1. Thanks Lois. All the critters want to be here. I’m not so sure what our neighbors think of the state of our yard.

      1. I think I’ve told you that I live between two perfectly manicured, and sprayed, yards. Ugh. No, thank you. I love nothing more than to watch the squirrels and all the various birds hanging out in my yard. The neighbors have absolutely zero critters. Their loss. Your critters thank you every day by showing up. Good for you, Dan!

  11. Dan I am back in the hospital. I don’t seem to be able to log on to my blog to post this. I just have my tablet. I don’t know how long I’ll be as I’ve got a nasty infection to deal with. I’ll contact you when I can.

  16. I used to have Rose of Sharon, but the Japanese Beetles came through and decimated them, and Charlie got mad and uprooted them and composted them. I’m glad you let me enjoy yours. :)

    1. I am so sorry to hear that. We lost two large ones last year to some kind of fungus or something. We have a bunch of shoots that are growing. I transplanted three of the largest ones last fall. Two are growing. The third was hit by some idiot with a snowblower (he resembles me).

We have grey and black squirrels, but they’re really the same species, one is just missing some gene.
