    1. Thanks Jo. I think the bunny snuck in on purpose, but he’s welcome.

  8. Bunnies and bikes! Has a nice ring to it. I used to love riding my bike. Then for years I didn’t own a bike anymore. Decided I wanted to ride again, bought a bike, but found my legs just weren’t up to the task anymore. Bummer. I still think bikes are such fun, offer great exercise and are a great alternative means of transportation, at least in good weather!

You owned some impressive bikes Dan.

    1. Thanks Ginger. Unfortunately, I really can’t ride much anymore. I injured my shoulder several years ago, and since then, I can only ride for about 30 minutes before my neck and shoulder start to hurt. Then again, I used to ride on the roads around here, and that isn’t safe for anyone anymore.

I had some very good times on two wheels in my life. I think I’ll quit while I’m ahead.

  10. Cool bike pictures. Hubby has owned a motorcycle for the past 35 years. All makes and models. So we have lots of motorcycle photos.

    1. I gave up the motorcycle when I moved to Connecticut. With leaves on the road for two months and then sand on the road for 4-5 months, it wasn’t worth it. I fell one time, in late April, in an intersection where the town hadn’t swept up the winter sand. I do miss it, though.

      1. That would do it. We were lucky as Vancouver was good for year round riding except for the occasional snow. (He won’t ride in snow). And now Spain is perfect. I no longer ride with him. The deal was when we retired to Spain that I would write books and he would ride his motorcycle. It has worked out well for both of us.

        1. I bought my motorcycle in Seattle, and I could ride it there year round (with a rain suit). We only had snow a couple times. In fact, I rode it through Vancouver in May 1981. Up the Frasier River Canyon, over to Banff, through the Idaho panhandle and back across Washington. My longest ride ever.

          1. That would have been a great ride. We rode around most of Washington State and Idaho over the years. Gorgeous. Also rode from Vancouver to California along the Oregon coast. Loved it.

            1. We did the coast ride form Seattle south in a Triumph Spitfire. Not as good as a motorcycle, but close. I love Vancouver, I hope I can get back there some day.

  11. My bike hasn’t seen much action either. You have a good collection for this challenge.

    1. Thanks. I was riding on the road around here. Now, between a nagging shoulder/neck problem and the idiots on the road, I’d have to cart the bike to a trail and still only ride for 30-45 minutes. I decided to walk more.

  12. Great job with the challenge. We have soooo many of those Lime bikes and scooters. People just leave them anywhere and often sideways, blocking sidewalks. I feel badly for folks having to navigate around thoughtless hipsters who leave them like trash wherever they fancy. Ours is a very pedestrian neighborhood with loads of SUV sized strollers; when the sidewalks are blocked, it makes it difficult to get around those e-bikes and make strollers have to 4-wheel drive in rutted snow paths. Sigh.

    1. I tried to leave the Lime Bike with others, off to the edge of the path, but you’re right, people left them everywhere. I think the ones that are returned to a bike rack make more sense, especially in areas with lots of foot traffic.

  14. One of our main streets switched from four lanes to two lanes and two bike lanes. Automobiles were still driving in the bike lanes until the city painted diagonal lines and added reflector lights. Drivers said, “Sorry. Old habits die hard.” Bikers were so freaked out!!

Smokey looks great on that bike! Gun the engine, little guy!!

    1. Believe it or not, Lois, the City of Hartford has a combination Bike and Bus lane. Like I want to be anywhere near a city bus while riding a bike.

Smokey was ready to rev it up!

Holy moley! Bikes and busses. And the city pays people to think like that…😲😬

        1. Yeah. Share the road with the biggest thing you can imagine, driven by a guy that doesn’t own it, doesn’t pay the insurance and can walk away from almost any accident.

  16. Great pictures, Dan. What motorcycle is that? I’ve always loved cycling and the last time I did that was when I went for Udaipur tour in 2018.

    1. The blue motorcycle is a Honda Hawk. A 400cc bike from 1979. I no longer own that.

      1. Oh. I tried learning how to ride a motorcycle in 2022 but I’m still no good at it. I was almost close to buying a Honda CB350 but I changed my mind at the last moment. I usually stick to Ubers and trains of which there is no shortage here.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. The Hawk was a sight revision to a 350 that preceded it. Small bike by comparison to popular rides, but big enough for me.

          1. Here in India, most people ride 125cc bikes and scooters. You’ll even find YouTube videos where they go a week into the Himalayas using that and it works. Youth (18 to 25 age) prefer 250cc to 400cc bikes of Yamaha/Honda/KTM and only those who have deep pockets go for 650cc and above because one also needs to consider the repair and maintenance and insurance cost. I prefer trains which eliminates all those costs (winks).

            1. I loved riding a motorcycle, but I would also prefer a train. Trains to me are magical.

  20. Our bikes haven’t gotten much action lately either. It’s gotten to the point where e-bikes are much more common around here than regular bikes. People (often kids) ride them like motorcycles and (often kids) ignore traffic signs and signals. I love the pace of a non-electric bike. Assuming traffic isn’t an issue, you can enjoy the scenery and get good exercise.

Fun picks, Dan. We can’t bicycle where I live – no shoulders, blind corners, and giant logging trucks, but I was just biking on the carriage roads in Bar Harbor a couple of months ago. I hope you’ve done that, or will someday. Great photos!
