Welcome to the (new) home page of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (CFFC).

A few weeks ago, Cee gave us an update in which we were glad to hear that she had returned home and returned to blogging and her Flower of the Day challenge. She also announced that she would not be maintaining her other challenges. She offered them to anyone who wanted to run them.

I’ve had so much fun over the year with CFFC, that I didn’t want to see it go away. So, I agreed to manage the challenge.

Normally, I will make this a short post, with emphasis on the photos. I may occasionally add some other material, but I’ll try to keep it light.

If you’ve participated in the past, you won’t notice many changes, but there are a few things you should know:

  • I’m keeping the name — Cee said I could, and I can’t imagine this being anything other that Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge
  • I am keeping the badge — I love that badge!
  • I am moving the start day to Monday. That’s the day on which I always joined, and it’s the only day that works with my blog schedule. It will still run for a week, so if Tuesday works better for you, it works for me, too.

I created a Page that explains how to participate and how the challenge works. You can always get to that page from the menu in the header of any post on this blog. If you want to see it, click here.

I am restarting this challenge where Cee left off:

Commercial buildings or store fronts

  1. Brilliant Dan, so glad to hear it’s not being shelved
And why not promote yourself, it’s your blog after all 😊

    1. The photos should open into a carousel with the captions below the photo. They do for me, but it took a couple tries. I’m not sure what might be going on.

  7. That’s great Dan. Thanks for keeping the logo and the name, it wouldn’t seem the same otherwise. Your Monday will be my Tuesday so that’s good for me as my Mondays are chock full of challenges 😁

    1. Thanks Brian. I agree, the name and the badge had to stay.

The challenge runs for a week, so it should work for anyone. I was always posting on Monday, which was the last day of the challenge. If people still post on Tuesday, it actually works well for me, since I don’t have a blog post on Tuesday. I hope to see you here (whenever you can make it).

  9. You are a good man, Charlie Brown! Wonderful that you are taking over Cee’s challenge, but I hope you’re not overtaxing yourself.

Love the photos of all the hardware stores. My husband worked for years in a local hardware store that was part of Servistar.

And I love the Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. Bet it’s a great place to roam through. You couldn’t possibly come out empty-handed!

The Old Wethersfield Country Store just beckons you to come in and stay awhile!

Great post to start this week. We are under a fair amount of snow this morning…not sure how much ice may be involved.

    1. Thanks Ginger. I hemmed and hawed quite a bit on this decision, but I think it will work. The challenge is spread over a full week, and I already follow many of the regular participants. Cee established a good pattern to follow, so it shouldn’t add much work to my week. I didn’t want to see this end, and since I tend to use archive photos, I’m not under the gun to scare up new ones each week.

Hardware stores of any age and style are difficult for me to get in and out of. Even when I get the thing I went in for, it’s hard to leave.

Our yard and driveway are white. I’m not sure with what, and I’m not sure if Mother Nature is done with us today. I’m supposed to meet some friends for lunch. I hope that happens.

I hope you have a great week!

  15. Dan, your blogging plate is beginning to look like the first round of a stoner at the all you can write buffet! But I get it. Her challenges are fun even if I don’t always have time to participate. Glad to know Cee is back at home and doing well.

  35. Nice variety. And yes I have pre-teen mind – hooker building, indeed, heehee … I am so glad that you’re taking over Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge. Cee’s announcement came at the time when I developed my back problems which resulted in my decision to severly curtail the time spent at my computer. So any plans I had to start a challenge (or taking one over) won’t be realised. So I’m doubly glad that you are taking up the baton! Good luck to your new endeavour.

      1. You are right, but you have taken it much further, and made some important changes. What’s great about you taking over CFFC is that you already have a fabulous following, like Cee does, and it will not lose any ground. After a while, you will add your own personality to it, like you have with Doors. I’m sure for many of the people who do Thursday Doors now you ARE Thursday Doors. The other thing is that you never let their legacies die. That is super sweet.
