Linda says we should try to make this post one sentence, although I think she welcomes appreciates understands tolerates a reasonable amount of backstory. As the title suggests, I have a lot of things going on. Obviously, I’m posting for the January couplet from Canada — the pairing of One-Liner Wednesday and Just Jot it January. I also invited Teagan R. Geneviene to join me for a cup of coffee at Sally Cronin’s place. And, I should let you know that I’ve invited Teagan to join David and I for a beer on her way home from Sally’s — look for that conversation on Saturday. AND, the Thursday Doors Badge Contest is currently accepting entries for the 2025 Badge Contest.

So, I guess the appropriate one-liner for this week is:

The more things you do, the more you can do.

Lucille Ball

Let’s hope Lucy knew what she was talking about.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

  1. Mam would have called that meeting yourself coming back, Dan, but I know you can do it. Nice photos!

    2. Haha! That can be a challenge, Brian. I have this weird and very inconvenient compulsion for honesty, which can make behaving a challenge. 🤔 Hugs.

  3. As always the photos are fabulous but this week the last photo of “Old Glory ” is really stunning! A harvenger of hope maybe.

l looking forward to seeing what you and Teagan have to say. 💜💜💜

    1. Thanks Willow. I think Jimmy Carter had hope for this country, and he maintained that hope for slightly over 100 years. The flag remains lowered in his honor, and I think that’s a good thing. I don’t usually like seeing the flag at half staff, but showing respect this way is a good thing that we do.

      Liked by 2 people

      1. There are not many politicians let alone presidents that you could say that about these days or ever.

I have a respect for Mr Carter too…. He deserves this honour 💜

  4. Love Lucille Ball’s quote. I think we can feel confident that despite the dyed hair and the heavy eye makeup, I Love Lucy definitely knew what she was talking about. She was quite the businesswoman.

‘Birds on a wire’ is a great shot but I really love the pooch behind the fence trying to look fierce.

Ice on the Connecticut River really announces that winter is here!

Sammy and his peanuts…..what more could a squirrel want.

Old Glory at half staff paying this nations respect for Jimmy Carter is a good thing to see. You captured a particularly awesome shot with the sun shining through the trees.

    1. I’m glad you like this, Ginger. In addition to everything else Lucy accomplished, she saved Star Trek. For that, I will always be grateful.

That dog is so funny. He barks in a fierce manner, but I tell him he’s a good boy and he settles right down. The homeowners try to keep him quiet, but it’s no use.

This is as much ice as we’ve had on the river in years. I love seeing it.

As I told Willow, I don’t usually like seeing the flag at half staff, but this time, I think it’s a good thing.

Looks like we’ll get a warm snap near the end of the week, and then back in the freezer. Take care.

  10. I will always treasure my faint memory of some Arabian Nights-type movie I saw back when we had to watch television by candlelight featuring Lucille Ball as a harem girl and Raymond Burr as the evil vizier. They were so young!
