We are working through a group of challenges around the topic of numbers. I wasn’t aware of a different challenge last week, when I started this topic. The Numbers Game, a recurring post by Judy Dykstra-Brown at her lifelessons blog is similar to the challenge I have for today. I’ll come back to that. First, our challenge.

Pick a number, at random or by some contrived method. Use that number to search your photo archive for images that include that number.

If you don’t want to pick a number, head over to Judy’s blog and use the number that she sets for today. If you participate in Judy’s challenge, you can link that post to both challenges.

Before getting to my number and gallery, I need to thank an antipodal blogger. When I said I didn’t know about Judy’s blog, it was Brian from bushboys world that pointed it out to me. Today’s JusJoJan prompt, from Kim at ink on a page, is ‘antipodean’ and Brian is close to being antipodean to me — well, nearest land mass close, anyway. In any case, he’s related to this post in two ways, so thanks Brian.

The number I am using today is 806. All of the photos in the gallery include 806 in their identifying number.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. Thanks Brian. You were here too early to notice that you are mentioned in the post. I edited the post after finding out what the JusJoJan prompt was, and it’s you. Well, as they say, close enough for government work.

      1. Thanks for the mention Dan. I was sitting here as it was hot outside when Judy’s numbers game popped up and I just dived in. A few moments later CFFC appeared and being hot and lazy…..😁

That squirrel gets lots of comments. Maybe it needs it’s own blog 😂

  7. It’s especially nice to see today’s gallery with photos that don’t include snow, which is something we got plenty of last night. 🤬

The squirrel waiting for Dan’s Door Dash, beautiful Rose of Sharon, Linus’ pumpkin plant, and best of all, Maddie, who loved the snow and loved Maddie’s Mountain.

    Nice shot of Old Glory.

Have fun with your snowblower Dan. You guys and your toys!

    1. I’m just about ready to head out, Ginger. I have to clear a spot to put some bird seed and peanuts.

That squirrel in the tree probably has a nice stash piled up inside. It’s a good day to stay in.

I hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks! We had a little snow to deal with this morning (4-5″) and it’s cold 17°f (-8°c) now at 10:00 am. I like having four seasons, so I think I’m staying here.

  21. Great random display. The concept of picking a number doesn’t work for the way I organise my photos, either I get too many or hardly any photos. So I picked years (and in one case a date): https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/01/20/i-picked-dates/

  26. Hi Dan,

Love the theme for this week…although I am not sure what I will find to share tomorrow. I like that challenges encourage link-ups to other bloggers’ prompt – thank you for that.

Smokey looks so pensive and cute. Love the squirrel in the tree ‘high-rise’, most excellent, his color matches the tree!

I have to admit I am jealous of your photos without snow at this time of year…just kidding!!

    Great images all.

    Have a good one!

    1. We got some snow overnight into Monday, Suzette. Only 4-5″ but it’s cold enough to keep it around for a while.

Cee was planning a series of posts that linked with other challenges. I do plan to go forward with that, but I need to contact the other hosts.

Sammy and Smokey and the birds are all cold and hungry. We’re keeping the buffet well stocked.

I hope you find some photos that you like.

      1. Thank you Dan for your great work and for taking on the challenge of hosting.
I am confident that the buffet for Smokey and the other faithfuls at your buffet will eat well throughout the winter. Bless you!

Yes, indeed I have found something I hope fits the brief it is scheduled for tomorrow. Cheers.

  28. Having a rather busy week due to unexpected circumstances Dan but I think I’ve found a way to join in. Loving the Dog, Flowers and Squirrels. Hope you were able to catch the Dog after they chased the Squirrels😅👍 Here’s my entry and apologies for any downbeat emotions: Pick a Number — CFFC – Images from Finchley

    1. I am sorry to read about those circumstances.

The dog is no longer with us, but she was a friend of the squirrels. She never chased them, and they were never afraid of her. I have pictures of them standing within a few inches of her. They don’t get that close to me now that she’s gone.

  32. Another fine gallery. That Rose of Sharon is sooo beautiful and so welcome in this Arctic blast that had snow with it. It makes me realize spring isn’t all that far away and while we need the moisture, I’m definitely looking toward warmer days. Hope you’re safe and warm with all the crazy weather everywhere (New Orleans received 10 inches of white stuff this week!).
