Badge entry Ritva
Ritva at Ritva Sillanmäki Photography

Welcome to Thursday Doors! This is a weekly challenge for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you’d like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post each (or any) week and then share a link to your post in the comments below, anytime between 12:01 am Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time). If you like, you can add our badge to your post.

The badge contest ended in a tie, so I will be altering the badge I use here, but you are welcome to use either of the winning badges.

Today’s gallery is special. My brother sent me some photos from the Iowa Law Library. So as not to dilute their beauty, I have limited the gallery to those four photos. Actually, I decided not to use a gallery at all.

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I’m enjoying a week off. I also hope you’ll have a few minutes to check out some of the other participants’ doors. Remember, all the doors will be recapped on Sunday.

All five of my current books are now available in audio book form thanks to Amazon KDP’s Virtual Voice process. The voice is AI generated, but I can honestly say, it’s pretty darn good. The audio books are reasonably priced (all below $7 US) and, if you already own the Kindle version and want to add an audio version, you can do that for $1.99. There is a five-minute sample on the book page for each book. If you’re interested, click on any of the Dreamer’s Alliance book links below the image or on the link below for my latest book.

    1. That third photo was my brother’s favorite. The library must be an inspirational place to study and conduct research. So much better than sitting in front of a screen.

  16. So, now you have your brother taking photos of doors? Good thing, Dan, because the law library is beautiful! Is that a spiral staircase or fancy architecture? I have no doors today…published a post of a different color…but I think a doors post will be in my future, TBD.

  18. Anyone studying in that building SHOULD be filled with the majesty of the law, not the pettiness and contradictions and loopholes. But I’m not taking bets. My doors this week are from a book on Canada: https://marianallen.com/2025/02/thursday-doors-oh-canada/
