Today’s Thursday Doors Recap includes the entries posted on June 19th and the two days that followed.

Today’s bunny is a repeat from yesterday, but we caught this guy munching on one of out “protected” Burning Bush plants, so I thought it deserved a second look.

  1. You do make a good rabbit proof fence Dan 😂

    1. They love those bushes, Brian, I need to go higher.

  2. It’s funny that the bunny wanted to be trapped. :-)

    1. He hopped out pretty quickly as we approached. If they would let them grow, we wouldn’t mind them eating the lower leaves.

      1. They eat a lot. We had a bunny once, but it ran away.

  3. A private zoo in the making?

    1. They know us too well. I’ll put up a higher fence, but we’d never hurt them or cage them. They have the run of the yard, and we (usually) enjoy watching them.

  4. You need a larger bunny cage than that. LOL

    1. Yes, and the kind with “rabbit wire” higher up.

  7. So the fence meant nothing? I shouldn’t, but I’m giving a silent cheer for the bunny. 🐰

    1. Nope. He hopped in and out without any effort. I have a larger one ready to go up. The problem with the fences is that it’s hard to weed inside them. I have to anchor them to the ground, so they’re hard to move and too small to work within.

      1. It’s nature for the win, Dan. I dug out the area around my crape myrtle trees, mulched it and thought, “Doesn’t that look pretty?” instead of having the grass grow right up to the tree trunk.

The birds, I know, laughed at that idea. Every morning, they gather around the trees and toss around all the pine bark mulch looking for…I don’t know what. But they make such a mess. I go out and push the mulch back into place. I know they know I will never win this little struggle, but I get such a kick out of watching them sling that stuff. All this to say, good luck with the bunny. 😆

        1. I’ve been thinking that I need to dig out around those bushes and add some mulch, but we’ve never had good luck with that.

  8. Perhaps the bunny thought it was a reserved buffet table for him/her. Lol

    1. Haha! You might be right, Suzette. He did look like we were intruding on his private dining.

    1. We’ll put up a bigger fence. The bunny is still welcome, but not in with the bushes.
