This week, we’re wrapping up our series of photos taken at different points during the day. This challenge was suggested by one our readers. In fact, that reader was none other than Willow Willers, the delightful co-author of our recently published novel. If you want to see the future ideas for this challenge, take a look at the home page. If you want to know more about Willow’s author role, I’ll be sure to stick some promotional material at the end.

For this series, the day was divided into six blocks of time. Last week, we covered dusk. This week, we finish with night. I think this is a pretty easy one to figure out.

My feature photo today is one of the adult bunnies that lives under my workshop. It’s about 2:00 according to the caption and he tripped the floodlight on our shed.

OK, let’s take a look at the photos I’ve gathered this weeks’ prompt. I chose pictures I know were taken during the night.

And now for that shameless advertising our recent book. Recently, we added a new video (below) where we’re sharing some of the comments people have made in their reviews of Poetic Justice.

  5. What beautiful portraits of night! The city in reflection is wonderful, but for a real gasp it’s that Christmas house with the gorgeous symmetry and Christmas warmth. I have a thing for window candles, so I especially liked both those houses. I might say something different in a few months, but right now the snow looks pretty good.

    1. I’m glad you like these. I knew I could rely on OSV’s Christmas by Candlelight for a few pictures. As for the snow, our town started school later this year because “we haven’t been needing the snow days we build into the schedule.” How’s that for tempting fate?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. NO! It’s bad enough to plan that way, but to come right out and SAY they haven’t needed snow days is absolutely the red in front of the bull! Rev up the blower!

    1. They go out in the evening to eat. We often see one of them coming home very early in the morning. We joke about where he’s been and what he’s been up to.

    1. Thanks Brian. A friend and I used to go to New Jersey (the closest NHRA event to us) on Fridays when the circuit held an event there. The night qualifying runs were amazing, but my camera at the time didn’t do the greatest job. The moon is always a challenge, but I like these.

  12. Great photos, Dan. I find it hard to get good snaps at night. Yours are excellent. Wow.

Love…love the moon and the planets. Super cool photos.

The bunny by your shed is so cute, like an extra shadow on the snow.

Love the photo of the Colt Dome…looks magical really.
Great reflections of colorful lighting of the city’s silhouette…my favorite. It looks like a huge cruise ship…lets just say that is my imagination running amuk…!
Thanks for the wonderful ideas and great snaps, Dan. Much appreciated. I hope you have a great Labor Day. Peace and grace to you.

    1. Thanks Suzette. I have lots of night photos that are on the proverbial cutting room floor, but I like these and I’m glad you do, too.

I like reflections in dark water, and when the bunny trips the floodlights (although I don’t think he likes that).

I see wht you mean about the cruise ship. I like that.

      Have a great day.

Happy Labor Day. Sure hope you and the Editor aren’t getting involved in any labor today beyond feeding the critters and yourselves. Hope this turns out to be a great start of September for you.
