David is on his own this weekend. My daughter has taken me out for the day, so I’m going to skip the bar. I am going to handle the Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “something you enjoyed.” Write about something you thoroughly enjoyed. Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Linda G. Hill

This is easy, especially today.

From 2:00 pm on Thursday, through yesterday and I think spilling over into today, people have been responding to the #1Day4Cee challenge that Marsha Ingrao, Deb Waters and I set up to honor and remember Cee Neuner. It isn’t often you get to do a good thing while blogging. I think this was a very good thing, but not because I was part of the group who organized it.

I enjoyed this because the responses were heartfelt and lovely. People didn’t just post a photo. They chose a photo they hoped Cee would like. I am certain she did.

Thanks to everyone who participated and to everyone who commented at my place, Marsha’s or Debs. This community rocks.

That’s it for me today. You can leave a comment if you like, but I won’t be around to reply. I will try to catch up later, but it could take a while. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend (and I hope Linda and her family start feeling better).

The gallery includes so recent autumn photos and some of the pictures I took while getting the photo I shared for the #1Day4Cee challenge. Below the gallery is a short (11 seconds) video for train lovers.

  5. A squirrel toll! Those are some smart critters. The train video is awesome — you even got the train whistle! And I think I heard a clanging crossing bell. A good start to our incoming winter weekend — thanks. I hope you’re having a grand dad-daughter time! No better gift than time!

    BIRT╠╣DAY! Dan!

What a lovely thing for your daughter to do. Enjoy your birthday weekend, Dan!

Thanks for the superb video of the train. You captured the sounds too…the video made my day!!

Love the cute bunnies and your squirrel entourage waiting for their gate “toll” as you return home…outstanding. Smokey is so adorable!

Wonderful trees captured in their various autumn moods of leaf shedding. Always a delight to see. My favorite photos (after the train) are the cute baby bunny…just adorable.

Thank you, Dan, for hosting Remembering Cee along with Marsha and Deb. It was an honor indeed to read what others have shared from their heart about her impact in the blogging community.

    Cheers.

    1. Thanks for the artful birthday message, Suzette.

The squirrels have us trained, as does the bunny and the birds and we had a newcomer to our backyard. Our resident opossum showed up for a late night meal. I think I got a photo (with my phone). If it turned out OK, I’ll share that midweek.

I think the leaves have almost run their course, but I’ve said that before, so we’ll see.

Thanks for joining us in remembering Cee. That challenge was very well attended. That’s part of the reason I’m running so late catching up.

I knew you would like the train video. I was so glad when I heard the horn. I hope your week gets off to a good start.

      1. You are most welcome, Dan. Since we already had snow here this week, the remaining leaves are pretty much gone.
A possum~ Wow, that must be quite the sight. *Thanks again for the train video.

And wishing you a great upcoming week also.

  8. If we were having a beer today I would be apologizing for not participating in this post to Cee. I have been slow and distracted of late. And on the same note do feel free to respond whenever. I am fairly certain it will be quicker than my responses of late. Enjoy your extended birthday and the time with your daughter !

Today’s Gallery is great….love the pumpkins for the squirrels! Beautiful foliage. The train video, whistle and all, is a hoot.

Enjoy your birthday weekend Dan. And don’t forget to pay that toll!

See you Monday, unless you’re too old to blog anymore! 🤣

  11. Enjoy the birthday weekend, Dan! The toll-takers are adorable. And I see you have the same tree ‘pruners’ as we have. Our mayor told us they were professional arborists who would be working with the power company. haha! Best punchline ever. Let’s take a tour of the pros at work Mr Mayor…

Reading all the posts for Cee was a true heartwarming experience. You all did so well. You have birthday greetings on my post! 🎈🎁

    1. Thanks Lois. Some of our “Arborists” are from Georgia. I put the term in quotes because, in CT, only an arborist can trim/prune a tree. The State makes an exception for these people since they are working for the utility.

I was very happy with the response for Cee.
