I love the soft light on the gold field, and little pine tree; it has a great shape! The trees in the background are lovely, and they lead my eye out to that dense fog on the left. I can almost hear the grass crunching under my feet as I imagine myself walking toward the great unknown in that wall of fog!

It was a crunchy walk. Maddie likes that, but she always wants to stop and sniff everything that made a sound under her feet. We have to accommodate each other.

You two sound like a wonderful team. Does she wear boots to keep her paws warm or warmish? We have boots for Diva Dog to wear on those really hot 90º days in summer. She wears sweaters on her evening walks on cold days in winter because when she gets cold she shivers otherwise.

Maddie doesn’t seem to mind the cold. She should, as Setters don’t get a winter coat (they don’t have an undercoat) but she’ll stay out in the snow forever. We thought about boots for the winter once there’s salt on the walks, but I’m not sure how she will take to them.
