    1. Thanks JoLynn. I see things like this and I just feel very good about things, at least for a little while.

  2. I love to make images with the sunburst through tree leaves too. Love the backlit leaves!

    1. I tried so hard to capture the backlit leaves but I had very few pictures come out the way I hoped they would (the way they appeared). I’m getting better, but I have a lot to learn.

  3. It’s really hard to get this type of image with the iPhone. Your Coolpix would have probably been better. Stop down to f5.6 or f8, meter for the leaves and shoot. I think you’ll get a lot closer to the image that you have in your mind’s eye, and see.

I don’t know what it is about the iPhone but I can’t hold it steady for my life. Give me a camera with weight and I can hold it steady. Figure toi!

    1. I should know to carry my camera out with me when nature calls to Maddie, but I only seem to ever have my phone. Of course, if I go back in for the camera, the moment is lost. I just took something out to the garbage and saw a very similar scene. I came in, got the camera and went back, and a cloud had rolled in.

      1. That’s why we photographers keep photographing in the same places, times, and environments, over, and over again. Trying to capture that elusive image. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve got up at O’Dark Thirty, driven dozens of miles, or driven hundreds of miles to a place, and not had the sunrise/sunset, or sky I hoped for. Keep on chasing the image! One day you’ll get it. “)
