IMPORTANT NOTE: Please click on an image to open the gallery, as some of the photos are larger than they appear in this gallery block. Once you choose the door(s) you want to work with copy them for use in your post. If you can’t download a copy, take a screen shot of the image in the open gallery. If you are unable to do that, email me at noFacilities@gmail.com – describe the photo you want and I’ll send it to you.

Note: On May 2nd, I received three images which were “lost in the mail.” Also: on May 3rd, I discovered that Maureen had submitted three doors not just the one I had originally included. Those have all been included, but door submissions remain closed.

Post your writing on your blog (or email it to me, if you don’t have a blog). I will build a table with links to all the writing entries and update it at least every Thursday or more often if there are more entries. Please leave a link to your writing entry in the comments here (or email it to me).

If you have any questions, email me at the above address. I’ll get back to as soon as I can. Have fun!

  3. Dan, thanks so much for all the wonderful work you did, bringing everything together (so far — I know you still have a lot of work ahead too).
There are so many exciting door images here. Your old City Hall building is very evocative.
I realize that I posted a link to this post for regular Thursday Doors, but since it provides some details about the doors I submitted, I thought I would add the link here too.

  7. All neat doors. I’m not a writer, yet could come up with something.

You did say anything so.. there is that. Haha a gown made out of doors. 😂😂

      1. Okay… it’s a doors writing challenge.

You also say anything. I want to go outside the box with this.

I do have an idea based on ….. a doors image/writing/anything.

Now, can I make this work? Lol… we will find out within a month!

    1. Thanks Cheryl. This was wonderful. I don’t know if you’ve tried the other block options, like the one designed for poetry. I haven’t looked at in a long time, but I did use it once.

      Liked by 1 person

  10. Thanks Dan. I’m so disconnected I don’t even know how to view the options. I couldn’t even copy all the text to center it at once. I had to do it line by tedious line. 🤦‍♀️

  11. It would appear that two photos that I submitted were also “lost in the mail.” I think you might have the same gremlins in your computer that I have in mine! Nasty things, those gremlins! I’m enjoying the image of all of us who enjoy this challenge, scratching our heads and chewing on our pencils — or keyboards, as the case may be — trying to open these doors mentally.

    1. I just found the other two doors. They were buried under a back and forth email. I’ll add them to the gallery in a bit. I’m sorry.

  15. I am unable to leave a comment on Sharukh Bamboat’s post 5 Vastu Tips on Doors so thought I’d leave it here. ( I’m getting a Not Acceptable!) message.?

Like Teagan I thought of Feng Shui while reading your post about doors. My front door faces north it was a must have when house shopping on both of the homes we’ve owned and thinking back most of the homes I grew up in had a north facing door only, one had a west facing door. My current front door is blue/grayish shade of gray with a green wreath on the door no ornament on the wreath just the leaves.
I found the way a door opens and the hinges interesting. Our front door hinges are on the left from the outside but open anti-clockwise I think…I have to think about that…it’s early. 😊 Interesting post! I enjoyed it.

  23. Hello Dan,

    Sorry to bother you!

I was just over to Marian Allen’s blog and read Steffie Southwest. I left a comment.

My comment does not appear, and there was no “Under moderation” comment.

There’s a possibility it ended up in spam, as I have never been to her blog before, nor she to mine. Hopefully it is first time moderation thing.

I had a nightmare Spam event about 3 years ago, which all began with someone not checking their spam folder. I was left in there, and it spread like a disease, a spam rash.

It was Akismet …. eventually that had to fix the issue. It took months.

    I just checked again.

Anyway, if you go there and don’t see a comment from me, would you kindly ask her to look for me in Spam, and free me?

    Thank you!
